Lisa had dreaded the Thursday appointment knowing that if they opted to do a compartmental test it meant multiple needle sticks. She may have been worse than a kid when it comes to a needle and get terrible white coat syndrome thinking about it. At one time she debated simply canceling her appointment but Mimi would not have it and said she would be there to pick her up at 6:45 to take her. Lisa’s leg still hurt but not as bad. It still aches to walk any distance. When we arrived they took 7 more x-rays to endure there was not a hairline fracture. She had also requested an evaluation prior to wheeling her back for the procedure after researching this issue which was not necessarily a good idea with the pictures that showed up that added anxiety. Thankfully the Dr at Andrew’s Sports Medicine came in to eval and heard her say it had been a WEEK and a half (not month, week) so the bone was likely still bruised because apparently a bruised bone can give false positives to the test they were going to perform on the muscles. So she was saved the test but has to report back in 3 weeks if the leg does not feel 100% at that time. Praying it does feel 100% so no additional followups are needed. To celebrate after the appointment Lisa went to go get a massage and cashed in on the certificate that Deedee and Grandpa had given her the last time they came to visit. She needed some time to relax and forget about the current stresses of life. Thankful for the gift certificate!
After the good news and massage, Mimi and Lisa headed back to the house to see how Chris was feeling and make sure he ate something. We warmed up food then decided to take it outside to enjoy the beautiful day. Mimi mixed up sausage balls afterwards while Lisa and Chris chilled out together before his next call. The girls got home from school and were excited to start their 5 day weekend even though we had no plans. That evening though Lisa and Leia decided to join Mimi at the middle school game to watch Sara’s dance since she was staying with Mimi that evening for Mimi to take her to meet her parents at the beach the next day. It maybe the only game that Leia goes to this year but it was fun having some time with our middle schooler at the game. Ivy opted to stay home with Chris. He said he napped so she entertained herself but they did go pick up dinner then snuggled in bed waiting on Lisa and Leia to get home. We all enjoyed some sweet family time, finishing up the Heartland series that evening and talking about what fun things we could get into over the weekend.
Sara and her team did great cheering on the Pirates
