4th of July weekend

Loving life, thankful to be in the land of the free and the men/women who help keep it that way, and spending time with family and friends. Friday, Grandpa and Deedee came to join us for a fun filled weekend. We hung out at the house most the day Friday, cooked in that evening, and watched it rain. Saturday morning Leia wanted to get a “surprise for everyone but needed mommy’s help since she could not drive”. So we loaded up in the car while it was pouring down rain and went to the donut shop to get “Grandpa and Deedee’s favorite breakfast” (per Leia) then Leia hid them for everyone to go on a scavenger hunt to find the surprise. After a relaxing morning we headed to Mimi’s for a little 4th of July fun there. We always enjoy going there and it is always entertaining with great fellowship, good food, and full of laughter. That afternoon we headed home to beat the crazy’s driving that evening. Chris went to get a few more fireworks to go with the sparklers and poppers Grandpa and DeeDee brought. While up there he ran into one of our neighbors then when everyone got home we combined our stash with the neighbors and ended up with a pretty cool show with several neighbors in the driveway. Great ending to a fun birthday celebration for America. Sunday, Grandpa and Deedee took us to breakfast before they headed home. The girls requested a “home day” to relax before next week activities begin so the rest of the day we enjoyed time at home together.
