Father-Son Trip to the Masters, Girls Night, and Soccer Fun Day

Chris was able to get two tickets to the Masters this year which led to a perfect father-son trip with Grandpa.  It was a great experience to share, walking on hollowed ground around one of the greatest golf courses.  During the tournament security is tight and being found with a camera or phone is subject to being removed from the course so the only picture is from before we left the hotel heading to The Masters.

The field was strong this year with Tiger, Phil, Jordan, Bubba, Rory, Sergio, etc teeing off Saturday in the later groups.  We walked around the front nine and watched Kuchar, Duffner, and Fowler on the front nine.  As the first groups were making the turn we headed over to Amen Corner to enjoy the beauty that Augusta National has on display.  The weather was mild, the sun shining, and we were enjoying watch some of the greatest players in the world play that tough stretch.  I have to say, being tall is definitely an advantage providing clear views over everyone else.

Before we left we made a stop at the Merchandise Store to purchase a few keepsakes for our experience.  It was a wonderful experience and I was glad that we got to share it.

Since daddy was gone his girls had a girls night with Mimi, Sara, and Katie. We went to dinner Friday evening with a assortments since everyone got their own choice. Leia and Katie chose Chick-fil-a, Sara Mexican, and Ivy chicken and cheese dip. Of course afterwards Mimi took everyone for a ice-cream treat as well. Later was movie night then the little sisters headed upstairs to sleep with Lisa while the big sisters slept with Mimi – thought splitting up would give everyone a little more sleep. Little sister bedroom slept till after 7 so it worked for us :). The next morning breakfast was a buffet then we all headed outside to enjoy a beautiful day. We played on the swing set and trampoline, set up the horse-shoe game Mimi bought for the kids, built sand sculptures, rode bikes, had a picnic lunch with Mimi’s neighbors, slid on the Mimi’s neighbor’s zip-line, rode Mimi’s cadilac (her John Deere) with the wagon behind it, grilled out dinner, and finally went inside after dinner. It was a fun day and we all got plenty of vitamin D.

Chris made it home for Leia’s soccer fun day. Her team had pictures before their game then there were fun bouncy houses, face painting, and ices after the game. To top that off we went to the Rhoads to play the rest of the afternoon and ended up grilling out there that evening. What a fun weekend for all of us!
