Big weekend: mother/daughter trip, Chris’s birthday, and Leia’s first soccer game

What a big weekend!

Friday night, Lisa and Mimi had a quick mother-daughter getaway to Chateau Élan in Georgia. It was suppose to be mimi with both her girls but Stacy had to cancel as we were leaving town since Mark came down with the flu. There were tons of laughter on the trip with our directional challenges. We enjoyed wine tasting, soaking in the hot tub, going shopping, and a fantastic view from our room. Of course we were up early the next morning so were the first to go to the breakfast buffet then started our way home leisurely with several stops along the way and sharing precious time together.

Blessed to call this lady my mom. Praying my girls want to spend time with me when they grow up too

Daddy had a fun daddy/daughter night with our princesses while mommy was away. They chose to pick up pizza for a play night at home then the girlies got to sleep in mommy’s spot. The next morning he took them for breakfast at Waffle House as requested before letting them have free time to play.

Saturday, we arrived home earlier than we originally anticipated. Leia helped us decorate the house to celebrate daddy’s weekend then we all decided to go out for a birthday lunch instead of birthday dinner. Stacy, Sara, and Katie joined us at the house then we all headed to Village Tavern for a celebration lunch. After lunch we all decided to go back to our house for playtime and birthday cake. We waited on the ice cream cake to defrost enough to cut (Mimi and Papa taught us it was better to be patient than break a electric knife). Everyone sang Happy Birthday to our husband/daddy/uncle C/son-in-love and enjoyed his yummy cake and got to play a little more before everyone left. The girls equested Chuck-e-cheese but it was too crazy so Chris and Lisa took out little monkeys to ride the carasoul then went back home for early bedtimes for all of Chris’s girls (mommy included).

Sunday, Lisa and Leia mixed up a batch of sausage balls and started cooking daddy’s birthday breakfast he ordered: sausage balls and bacon (right up Leia’s ally). After a leisure morning we headed to church then Chris picked Moes for a quick birthday lunch before going home to get out soccer girl ready for her first practice and game. Chris practiced with her a little before we left the house. Leia had a blast playing with her new teammates. Chris got to practice with her while she was sitting out letting others play. Uncle Mark ventured up to the game and watched from afar since he did not want to miss Katie’s first soccer game. Our girls were victorious, winning the game.  Afterwards, Mimi took us all out for Mexican to celebrate the girls big win and Chris’s real birthday. He finally opened his presents there (can’t believe it took him that long). He also got to wear a big hat and be serenaded. That evening daddy got to relax with a low key family night and lots of snuggles from his three girls. We love you, Chris! Hope you enjoyed your birthday celebrations.
