What a fun weekend! Thursday night we spent the night with Mimi with Sara and Katie. Then Friday morning Nana and Kylee joined us for breakfast, swimming, and lunch before we headed home to wait on Grandpa, Deedee, Adrian and Alicia to get here. The girls waited at the door until it was taking a little longer than they wanted it too so they started crafting to pass the time. Squeals of excitement were heard when the doorbell rang though. The kids have such a great time together and we were able to have a delayed Mother’s Day Celebration with Deedee. We cooked in that evening so the kids could play longer without having to wait at a restaurant. Oh and since the kids do not think it is a celebration without a cake, we baked a cake :). All the kiddos got to stay up late that night as well. Although, none of them slept in on Saturday. Deedee gave Leia and Ivy their toothless dress to wear to “How to Train You Dragon 2”, a cute black and white dress (mommy loves black and white since we can coordinate), and stuffed dragons (never realized how much Ivy like toothless); of course, Leia decided they should wear their toothless dress that day. After the guys headed to the golf course the ladies and kids went to the park for a little bit. Adventurous Adrian met a couple nice boys fishing who let all 4 of our little ones touch their fish, look at the lures, and the baby girls get tangled in their fishing lines. We did not stay long at the park though since we were heading to pick up Zoe’s to take to Mimi’s for lunch. Sara and Katie came to the pool as well so there was always someone different to play with no matter what activity you were ready to do: splash in the pool, play in the playhouse/swing-set, or go explore the yard for critters. Aunt Kelly met us at Mimi’s after her Aqua-bike. Uncle Mark had both Ivy and Katie trying to learn to swim. Aunt Kelly was teaching Sara different swim strokes. Aunt Lisa played in the pool a little bit with the kids since Ivy said she would jump to mommy but ended up only jumping to uncle Mark (next time we may have to delay getting in since it was a little on the cool side). Mimi, Deedee, and aunt Stacy played lifeguards on the side of the pool. That afternoon we headed back home to our house for dinner and play. Grandpa and Deedee treated us all to some yummy yogurt for dessert at Sweet Frogs. The kids worked off all the sugar playing before it was bath and bed time (Leia and Ivy could not have another late night cause they seemed exhausted). Sunday morning, the whole house was up by 7 o’clock. Grandpa suggested getting donuts and picked them up for breakfast. The kids enjoyed the morning together except when Leia got stung by a wasp. Other than that incident it was a great time until Leia declared it, “a really sad day because Adrian and Alicia had to go home”.
