Leia

Alabaster Festival 2014

The girls had a blast this year at the Alabaster Festival. Uncle Mark was able to hook us up again with VIP treatment; thank you Uncle Mark! The weather seemed significantly warmer this year but the little ones did not seem to mind at all. We arrived as it opened to try to beat the heat and crowds. The girls visited the fire department booth to get bike helmets before getting handy constructing a Shriek carriage and airplane (with mommy and daddy’s help so no pictures) before meeting up with their cousins. Aunt Stacy spotted us first saying, “great minds think alike” since Stacy and Lisa had dressed alike for the second day in a row, both unplanned; it was easier to keep up with everyone though since girls and mommies were dressed alike. The girls thought it was cool to get their hair dyed bright pink, yellow, blue, red, and orange, whatever colored they dreamed up – may need to get a couple cans of that for a fun crazy hair day.  After that Leia, Sara, and Katie headed to ride a spinny thing but Katie wanted no part of it once it started so they stropped to let her off and Ivy buddied up with Katie on the bouncy houses. Ivy is getting strong! She climbed up a steep little incline to be able to slide without any help. Leia and Sara joined the fun when the ride stopped then Ivy decided to get on the big girls rides with them. Leia had already said she was riding in-font of Sara on the swings; of course we did not know there would be double swings and everyone wanted to ride together. Ivy ended up riding with Sara and Leia met a new friend to ride with so everyone was happy. Although, sweet Ivy did start to get a little nervous as the swings sped up but when Sara held her hand she came around with a big smile on her face the next time. Right beside the swings was a favorite of Leia’s last year, the frog dropped. Ivy LOVED this it this year!  She rode it with Leia and Sara then rode it by herself a few more times while Sara and Leia headed off to the challenge game. They also rode on a swinging boat, got their face painted, and jumped in the mickey house and carriage slide till it was time to get something in our bellies. The VIP tent where lunch was being served had air conditioning and felt so cool. We took our time eating before going back out for a few more rides and to watch a dog show. Ivy was getting very tired shortly after lunch and we unfortunately did not bring a stroller so she and daddy went to the car to watch a movie and rest while mommy and Leia played a little longer. Leia had fun riding everything she wanted one last time with her cousins before we started to walk to the car. On the way we spotted a few princesses and got to get a quick picture with them before heading out.

The frog ride seemed to be Ivy’s favorite. She stuck with it when big sister and Sara went to do the ‘challenger’
