We have spent most days when it was not raining at Mimi’s pool to practice our swimming since both girls took swim lessons this year. Ivy screamed during her lessons in protest until we figured out we needed to blow bubbles in the pool to make her happy and motivate her. At Mimi’s she has been doing awesome with her swimmer on and going all over the pool by herself and will occasionally practice her skills with nothing when mommy or daddy is with her, one-on-one (pool rule is she wears swimmer around pool unless we are working with her). Leia did amazing in swim lessons jumping in from the side and swimming back to the ladder and all but has been a little hesitate to swim or jump in at Mimi’s. Chris could get her to put her head under the water after creating a ‘pinchy fish’ game but she did not want to get in the deep end. Sara has been wanting playmates in the water all summer. Saturday, Leia finally swam in the deep end about a third to half way across the pool to uncle Mark. Of course, mommy got a video (or two). Leia watched the video multiple times and wanted to go again on Sunday. Only when we were there Leia realized Sara and Mark were not there. Sara apparently had bribed her by offering Leia a dollar the next time she came to her house (wonder where she learned that from?!?). Anyways, Mimi offering a dollar if she swim to mommy Sunday. She earned her money as she swam across the pool five or six times and jumped in once to daddy in the deep end.
