Celebrating Cousin Adrian’s 5th Birthday

Thursday night the Comfort clan headed out to head to Deedee and Grandpas for a couple days to celebrate Adrian’s 5th birthday. Both girls were so excited they refused to sleep in the car but sleep won out with little Ivy with less than an hour to go. Mommy and daddy had hoped since they were up very late they would sleep in and rest well but no such luck. Ivy woke up a few times and screamed do much she woke sister up in the next room. Leia was singing in her bed at 6:30 (eastern time so really 5:30 to us) ready to go (mommy made her lay there to rest a little while longer but not long enough). After sweet Ivy got up the Comfort girls headed to Diego and Kelly’s house while the boys went to play golf. Leia was so excited to see Adrian; likewise, Adrian wanted to see Leia. They had a blast! Little sisters played. The big ones drew on the concrete with chalk while Ivy swing. Everyone did crafts. Leia and Adrian thougght they were really big outside by themselves playing. It really did not matter what they did the best part was just getting to visit with each other.

That evening Darrell and Gene had everyone over for a yummy dinner. Unfortunately our girls were melting down with the lack of sleep so we did not get to relax at the dinner table but it was nice evening outside with spring air and we did get to catch up a little more. Leia was excited her awesome cousin Adrian let Leia help open the girft we gave him and they got to play with it. She had been wanting to play with it since she saw it. It was fun watching the kids play, do sparklers, and play in the bubble baths before our much needed bed time.

Saturday, the girls were excited everyone was home when they woke up and got to playing immediately. We went to the park to feed the ducks and play a little before rest time. After rest time it was time to head to Adrian’s superman party. The party was fabulous! There were super-heros, princesses, and our very own ballet dancer (Leia refused to go in anything other than her leotard). Kelly set up fun games at the park and had the girls favorite part of a party … pizza and cake.

All the kids did awesome on the obstacle course! They had to save superman from the cryptonate, flex their muscles, crawl through the tunnels, knock down villins, blow over towers and escape the water ballons (afterwards they got to throw balloons at each other and the adults)
