Roll Tide Roll – Alabama’s 15th National Championship

Everyone who knows me knows I am not a huge sports fan; I am more of a fourth quarter girl. Everyone who knew my daddy knows he was one of the BIGGEST Alabama fans around and liked to watch every minute (even if it was a run away game) and the commentary after the game. Papa was so excited that Alabama had a chance for back to back National Championships this year after winning the SEC Championship game. It was a sweet night to watch Alabama roll over Norte Dame; all of Papa’s girls, ‘sons’, and extended family were cheering louder and more than normal. I could see him jumping off the couch celebrating on the first touchdown. I could hear him yelling roll tide and saying ‘that a boy’ at the interception or a good defensive play. I could see his huge grin every time Alabama got a touchdown. I could hear him yelling at the defense to stop Norte Dame as they got closer to the goal line. I could see him staying up half the night listening to the post-game commentary as the rest of us went to bed. I know he would have been talking about this game for days afterwards, re-living it. To me, Alabama’s 15th National Championship win was in memory of my daddy, the biggest Alabama fan I know; wish we could had watched it together like I had planned.

RRRRRRROOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL TIDE ROLL!
