The family had planned on heading over to celebrate with Grandpa but not long before we started to leave Chris got the dreaded fever; he had not escaped the flu. As he hit the bed, Lisa and the girls hit the road to go celebrate. Kelly, Diego and the kids were at Grandpa and Deedee’s when we arrived. Adrian was outside doing sparklers; Leia shied away and wouldn’t touch them (Mimi and Papa had tried to get our girls to do them). However, by the end of the night Adrian’s excitement and fearlessness had rubbed off on Leia and she did them with Grandpa and Adrian (she will have to show cousins Sara and Katie). It was a fun evening. The kids exchanged Christmas gifts, we all enjoyed pizza, and lots of play time. After Adrian left Leia spotted the box of brownies and talked Deedee into marking them before bath time. She sure has gotten into ‘baking’.

Saturday, we (Ivy, Leia and Lisa) slept in! We awoke to a yummy breakfast on the table. Thank you Deedee! As soon as the girl’s ate the girls were ready to get to the basement to play a while before we went to pick out birthday decorations and meet Adrian, Alicia and Kelly at Chickfila. The play area was outside and it was a little chilly but the kids wanted to play a few minutes after they ate. They love being together. Grandpa got home from golf as the little ones woke from their nap. We all wished him a happy birthday then grandpa headed off to play too (love big kids). Thanks to technology Chris got to join in on the celebration after dinner to sing happy birthday and see Grandpa open gifts using FaceTime. Of course there was more play, sparklers (Leia and Adrian were double fisting them), and lots of fun that evening.
