Leia

Halloween 2012

Last Halloween Lisa was off on maternity leave thus she got to spend the whole day with the girls. She took them to Mimi and Papa’s office, to the school party, daddy’s office, etc. This year she is stuck at the office so the girls had to go to their new school but they did get dressed up (their real costumes were saved for the evening festivities since the come home with clothes that need washing most the time). They had a Halloween pizza party.  Yeah! The girls like pizza and got to celebrate with their school friends since mommy and daddy both had to work. When Lisa got there to pick them up they were still dressed up celebrating which made mommy happy to see them enjoying themselves.

Thanks for the picture daddy

As soon as Lisa could get off she headed to get the girls to start the evening festivities. First stop was to turn our girls into Belle and Cinderella. After everyone was all dressed up the family headed to our church’s ‘Light the Night’. It was full of excitement! The girls had a great time! Leia said her favorite was the castle jumpy.  However, she said she does not like big slides; hence, the reason that mommy ended up climbing up and sliding with Leia. There was not too much for Ivy’s age to do but she played the pick a duck game and enjoyed taking in the excitement, next year she will be running around with her sister.

Watching the children’s choir perform (Leia wants to start going to choir now)

After we went to light the night we headed home to meet up with our neighbors for trick or treating and cookout by the fire. Leia was excited about getting more candy with Stella and making marshmallows (better known as s’mores). Before we headed out trick or treating we got to show Mimi and Papa our outfits since they had ran by to see the girls and give them a Halloween treat. We made it to about 6 or 7 houses this year before we were tired (doubled last year). Of course when we were 3 streets over from our house we HAD to potty. What is a girl to do that says she can’t hold it do? Find a tree in a darker area to hid behind (that may be TMI but these are the funny moments that are so easily forgotten). The girls were happy to see the house when it got into sight and even happier to have foods on their plates since we had told them they could not eat any candy until after dinner then they could pick one (minus the M&Ms that made Leia feel better after she fell trick or treating). Everyone enjoyed the warmth of the fire! It was a chilly night  for us in October, one of the coolest Halloween’s in the past several years. The hot-dogs, chips, and s’mores were a hit for hunger kiddos, moms, and dads.

We did not last that long trick or treating and came back home for some fun around the fire pit
Thank you daddy for getting it started and set up for us all
