We have been TERRIBLE about taking pictures this past few days with lots of happenings. Here is a little catch up so we don’t forget what fun we’ve had this year.
Saturday, June 2 we hosted a neighbor cookout. We are blessed to have two neighbors with kids our girls’ age (big deal in our area). The three families have been talking about a cookout since March so Lisa got tired of talking and decided we should host it. Chief Chris did a great job on the grill! All the fixings were superb too but the best part was watching the kiddos play together. Before dinner we walked over to a neighbor’s house so Ivy could watch Drake throw ball with his dad (she LOVES watching balls being thrown, one of the best things to do when she is fussy). Of course Princess Leia showed up to the party dressed as Belle and settled into the art area with the other girls. After they all colored a little bit one of the neighbors also had to get on her Belle costume (picture below – only picture from the cookout). Not too long afterwards the kids noticed the sprinkler and little kid pool in our yard so ran across the street for some water fun. They played chase, hide n seek, and more until way past our girls bedtime but we could not stop all Leia’s fun (Ivy did go to bed on time). The next morning Miss Leia said she dreamed about the 7 year old little boy across the street (Chris better watch out). We are so blessed to have such fantastic neighbors.
Sunday, June 3 started off with an unexpected trip to the doctor. Leia woke up screaming her ear hurt. Luckily, she has her daddy’s ears instead of her mommy’s; no infection just extra wax they had to remove. She was so brave at the doctor she got to chose what she wanted to do (go to Mimi and Papa’s to play with her cousins or go home to play and wait on Grandpa and Deedee). Leia is a smart cookie! She said if she played with Sara and Katie she could go home afterwards to play with Grandpa and Deedee (best of both worlds – only problem was we would not be there when they arrived but she said that’s okay they will play with me anyways). They ended up meeting us at the carousal before dinner so Leia was so excited.
Leia and Ivy got lucky, Monday and got to stay home from school with Deedee while Grandpa and Chris went to play golf and Lisa went to work. I know Leia always enjoys play time with Deedee. Leia has quite an imagination. She had Deedee playing mommy, baby, and big sister (guess who was the mommy – Leia; Ivy was the big sister), puzzles, coloring, babies, and more. Thank you Deedee for entertaining Princess Leia and loving on our snuggle bug, Ivy.
Tuesday is Lisa’s normal day off, LOVE Tuesdays! Leia and Ivy decided everyone should go to McWane to play (except Daddy since he had to work). Dora and Diego exhibit is there now and Leia loved running around exploring the new activities. Of course, the favorites like the water table, climbing toys, and bubble area were visited too. Everyone had a great time but two little girls needed their beauty sleep so we had to head home and say good bye to Deedee and Grandpa for a few days.
