Leia

Chris’s Birthday / Leia’s Milestone

Leia was so excited about daddy’s birthday! She practiced “Happy Day Daddy” for over a month. (I must say she sang it beautifully too!). Ivy just would smile in delight when sissy sang which was nice even though she isn’t really sure what is going on but she is agreeableJ. Unfortunately, Chris’s birthday fell on a Thursday (Lisa’s work day) so the girls had to go to school and could not surprise him at the office. Leia told daddy happy day, gave him a balloon, and showed him his card she decorated him when he got her out of bed. Cousins Sara and Katie sent him a video of them singing happy birthday to him that Leia enjoyed watching on the way to school. Upon Chris’s arrival in his office he found another card on his desk then mid-day Lisa sent a video (below) to him to sprinkle a little birthday bliss throughout the work day. Chris’s birthday lunch was yummy … in the office cafeteria … work has been so busy he could not escape. Lunch was not exactly what we consider gourmet meal (a frozen meal and chicken fingers) but it allowed a few minutes together and that is what really matters.  Chris had not gotten a chance to look at the video either so we watched it together as our sweet big girl wished her daddy a happy day. (Mommy LOVES that she sings happy day instead of happy birthday and so glad we caught it on video.)

Lisa went to pick up the girls after work and found out LEIA’s BIG DAY. We have been potty training and today was the first day with no accidents at school (she has gone accident free at home with mommy). We had been telling her that if she went all day we would go get ice cream after school so we called daddy to see if he wanted to come with us to celebrate Leia’s accomplishment and his birthday. He did not have meetings and had worked most the weekend before so he got to come met us. After ice cream Chris and Leia went to pick up his birthday dinner will Lisa and Ivy went home so Ivy could eat. Chris’s pick for dinner was Outback (at home). Leia and Ivy helped him open presents before he headed off to softball. The girls were shortly behind him to cheer on his birthday, plus we brought cake to celebrate with his teammates.
