Sunday following Chris’s second infusion was a home day after the Comfort girls being out Saturday. Daddy seems to have less energy following his second treatment than the first one. Hoping he gets the surge of pain free again like he did after the first treatment.

Monday Ivy had Girl Scout. They made a TP cake for the birthday celebration. It was another day of the same ole same at our house; Chris still did not have energy and the seemed to be having significant nausea following the infusion. Thankful Ivy had sweet friends to spend some of the afternoon hours with laughing and playing.

Tuesday and Wednesday it became apparent we needed to get some meds for nausea. Chris seems to be getting sick frequently this week following the treatment. There has not been the pain relief like there was the after the first treatment either. It is not as encouraging as it was after the first infusion. We were thankful, Wednesday that he did get a good report from the cardiologist but the wait was too much and we forgot to take extra pain pills so it made for a rougher afternoon than we desired.
Thursday, Lisa got a call from the school nurse that Ivy fell and Leia’s Halloween costume came in; I think Leia got the better treat. Thankful nothing was broke but we skipped West Carnival at school and Ivy took advantage of getting to be the princess on the couch propping her leg up.

Friday afternoon was for naps (for Chris) and friends (for the girls). Chris seemed to be having a better day thankfully. We got out of our house and went to the Rhoads that evening for some Chuy’s fajitas since that was the one thing that seemed to taste good to Chris recently.

It was a nice night and the adults sat outside by the fire table while the girls chilled out inside, playing among us and enjoying time to themselves.

Beautiful ladies! There was lots of laughter. Loved hearing it, hearing the girls say they had a fun time, and getting to chill outside with Chris, Mimi, Stacy and Mark … great night!

Saturday morning was a sweet morning for snuggles with Leia while sweet Ivy slept in

We moved outside that mid morning when everyone was awake. Daddy joined us on the front porch for a few minutes as well before heading back in for a nap

Mid morning Lisa headed to pick up the girls a friend. They stayed outside most the day. Chris was inside watching sports between his cat naps. The girls thought October is great for a sprinkler, glad it we got a hot tub to warm up in too

Loved hearing their giggles and seeing them have fun

So thankful they played this game outside! Did you see the previous picture of Ivy

The playdate was so fun we ended up having lunch an d dinner

Sunday morning coffee outside was nice while Chris napped and the girls played. Praying the naps mean Chris’s body is fighting the cancer

We determined Ivy would get to learn to fly the drown today too after asking for days. We set Chris’s chair outside and our commercial licensed drown pilot taught us to fly it. The battery only lasted 10 to 15 minutes so it was a short outing but so thankful for the sunshine and sweet moments together

The girls learning from their daddy
Both were excited to give it a try themselves too
Family selfie before Chris headed inside

So thankful to have our sweet girls who bring joy, a reason to keep going and fighting

Sunday evening Ivy (and Lisa) went to a Halloween party with the KD’s at UAB while Leia went to D-group

Monday was a productive day at work for both Lisa and Chris. Lisa loved hearing Chris in a meeting engaged and talking. It was the first day that Chris seemed to have more energy since the last infusion. Lisa suggested grilling out which Chris said sounded good and we invited Mimi to join us. Chris was all in for a nice evening until we started cooking and he started getting nauseous again. He tried to eat a few bites but we did get to enjoy time on the porch. We also opened the doors to air out the house in hopes the cooking smell would escape and Chris would not get nausea inside.

Family dinner on the porch

Followed by fun time on the trampoline
Monday evening Chris decided to try to sleep in the zero gravity chair since he has had a hard time sleeping in the bed recently; Ivy got to sleep in his spot. Unfortunately, he said it was one of the worst sleeps that he has had in a while but said he was going to try it again Tuesday night. Tuesday, was a tough day mentally, he ended up sleeping most the day with very little energy and not willing to eat much at all throughout the day although he did manage to get few sausage balls and part of a protein shake down throughout the whole day but other than that when he saw or smelled food nausea took over.
Wednesday was a better day. Leia slept in daddy’s spot. When mommy woke up and saw her looking like a sweetie she had to snap a picture. Chris came back to the bedroom as we were all waking up and Leia came back to snuggle for a few minutes after she got dressed. Chris and Lisa both worked that morning then we drove to the Apple Store for Chris to get his new computer. That afternoon Lisa took the girls to horses then to the church’s Trunk-or-Treat. The Trunk-or-Treat was so busy! But the girlies had a great time and we got to catch up with friends we have not saw in a while too.
She looks like a angel so mommy had to snap a picture

Sweet snuggles and a new computer makes daddy happy

Trunk-or-Treat fun at Shades! Loved running into family and friends, playing games, face painting, and having fun with our girls

Thursday after school we headed to the Rhoads to carve pumpkins by the fire-pit.
Thankful Mimi is a pro at cutting the top of the pumpkins off

The dads came to join in on our friend

Friday after school Leia had a 6th grade monster mash at school but ended up with a headache so headed home. Ivy had Olivia over for an afternoon of fun. Leia asked mom and dad for a Hallmark Christmas movie afternoon which momma thought was the best idea to get us in the Christmas spirit. Chris and Lisa had the Talley’s over for dinner and to watch a few innings for the World Series. It was a fun afternoon for all.
Saturday, Kelly, Diego and the kids drove over to visit. We loved having them come! They arrived a little before lunch and stayed until after dinner. It was a short visit but we enjoyed every minute of it!! We enjoyed a yummy lunch here, the kids played outside and in the playroom, got in the hot-tub, watched some football, went out to dinner, and enjoyed sweet fellowship together. Thankful they came over and we got to have a fun, good day together.
Enjoying sweet time in the hot-tub

Adrian came up with a “yes game” …. the girls tortured him but he was such a good sport and loved hearing all the laughs!
