The rest of the week we were waiting for the biopsy results. We had been told 3-5 days if it was definitive but that it could be 7 or 8 days if it was not. Gene and Darrell was here to help with the girls as Lisa still was not cleared to drive. We all were anxious to get the results and focused on it. There was not many pictures taken throughout the week but the two that were are under that day. Long week of waiting on results.
Tuesday, Mimi came to take Lisa to her CT on her ear then to get a much needed massage. Gene cleaned out all three of our cars. Darrell went with Mimi and Lisa shopping that afternoon to get a skirt for Leia since her favorite one had accidentally been put in the dryer and shrunk. Leia made out and we found the skirts on sale for $5 so she got four more in the place of that one; God blessed us that day to find a good deal. Later that afternoon she took Leia to vision therapy on Tuesday after school and Lisa worked a little. Chris was feeling better after medicine so he worked all day.He got good news that he received a promotion too so we went to Firebirds for dinner to celebrate. Lisa ended up with a massive headache before we got back home so retired early while everyone else chilled out in the den until a more appropriate bed time.
Wednesday, Gene got up early to drive to Columbus, GA to trade in Darrel’s pilot for a new Palisade. He got back right as Lisa and Chris both finished up a work call so we all went out to see the new car. It is pretty and has all the bells and whistles on it. Chris drove it around the neighborhood so we all got to ride then Darrell drove it around too before she and Gene headed to pick up Ivy and Leia. They also picked up our neighbor, AlexAnn as well then took the 3 of them to get ice-cream while Lisa and Chris continued working. It was the first day since Lisa got Covid she felt like she could focus and work all day. We played clean out the fridge for dinner and grilled burgers so Leia had one to take for lunch the next day. It was a good day!
Thursday, was another work day for Chris. Lisa woke up early and work half a day. Grandpa and Deedee took the girls to school. Mimi, Stacy, Deedee, and Lisa all went for a girls lunch and enjoyed time on the back porch. Grandpa went and hit golf balls. Mimi picked up Ivy to take her to watch Sara dance at the first football game. The rest of us cooked spaghetti and watched lots of TV (Leia’s choice).
Friday, Gene and Darrell took the girls to school. Darrell took Lisa to PT where she was cleared to drive then they headed home. Chris and Lisa both worked that day. Leia and Ivy asked for friends to come play that afternoon so we texted moms. We received a call from the nurse finally that afternoon. She was surprised to tell us Chris did not have lymphoma. Instead the biopsy showed it was more likely kidney cancer and provided us another doctors name that would be more suited to treat this type of cancer than the group she was worked with; needless to say we were in shock too since everyone had been telling us lymphoma based on the latest test and blood work. We are not sure if this is better or worse but we do know it did not take God by surprise. Lisa drove to pick up Ivy and her friend, Olivia from Shades. Holly brought Leia home. We kept things as normal as possible. The girls played and we invited their friends to have dinner too. After their friends went home we got baths and snuggled up on the couch to watch our horse show, Heartland.
Thankful our girls have some sweet friends
