Leia

First week of school, rest of quarantine

Wednesday morning Mimi sent pictures for the second day of school and planned on coming by for a quick visit afterwards. Lisa continued improving with the meds and vitamins; she is so grateful for the prayer warriors! People interceding on our behalf for God to help her body heal and that her finally fever broke. She was able to sit in the den with a mask and watched Ivy play. Ivy was super pumped when Mimi brought Leia by to say hi too.

Our porch visit was short and rainy but oh so sweet!

Thankful Mimi brought our girl by again today and brought some dinner before they headed back to Gardendale. That night we had a rough Face-time call so we decided tomorrow we needed some more time together and decided to do a visit through the door if Lisa’s fever stayed away

Thursday morning picture of Leia before her third day of school

Ivy was so excited to see Mimi this afternoon. Mimi came over to drop off watermelon and sat on the porch while Ivy played in the swing. She has not had much outside time this week so it was nice for her to have some outside time. Mimi brought Leia back over after school and Ivy/Leia had a cookie on the back porch sitting clear across the porch but they could see each other and were together.

Lisa woke up right as Mimi and Leia left but they did a U-turned around for a visit between the door. It was the best medicine for our souls.

Sweet Ivy repaired the pillows, blankets, and toys … thankful she learned these skills and was willing to help us out

Face-timing with  Leia, loved seeing her big smile!

These girlies are missing each other like crazy! They played Barbies via FaceTime

Friday morning seemed to be the same. Mimi sent a picture and they waited for time to drop off but Leia said she felt sick as they were going through carpool so they headed back to Gardendale. In hindsight, it probably was the fact Leia took her Vitamin C on an empty stomach but she ended up with a mental health day on day 4 of school. After another negative Covid test we let the girls get together at Mimi’s house. Chris drove Ivy out then came back home to rest. They were so excited to be together! It was such a sweet time for them!!

They had a day of playing, swimming, and sweet fellowship. Mommy and daddy wished they could have been with them but momma still was low on energy so it was the best thing to let them have time with Mimi

That afternoon sweet Mimi sent Lisa pretty flowers that brightened her day. Chris and Lisa enjoyed dinner together in the den; sweet date even sitting 6 ft apart. We called Chris’s parents and Face-timed our girls then Lisa’s energy waned so she headed to bed and Chris had some quiet time to himself to rest up

Saturday, Chris and Lisa chilled at the house most the day. The girls had a good time at Mimi’s. Thankful they can be together now. Today we made the criteria that got us out of quarantine, 10 days since first symptom plus 48 hours fever free. We ended up driving to Mimi’s for a family dinner later that afternoon. Lisa hung outside the whole time as precautionary except if she had to run in to the restroom. They grilled out, Lisa sit in the shade by a fan and Chris sat in the house resting his back. It was so so, so good for mental health to be together. However, the drive may have caused Chris’s back pain to flair up more than the previous few days. It is all a balancing act right now trying to manage the mental fatigue and physical pain. God keep your hand on us and heal us my Lord.

Girls having fun with cousins and Mimi

Girls were so excited to see their daddy

Evening fun at Mimi’s for the girls

Sunday was another home day for Chris and Lisa. Lisa had more energy and disinfected out “sick room” in preparation for our girls coming home the next day. Chris rested as his back was not feeling well. The girls had a fun day with Mimi. They swam, rode the golf cart, ate whatever they wanted, and played all though out the house. That afternoon aunt Stacy came over for a few minutes chilling on the porch with Lisa then that evening the Sipes brought Lisa and Chris dinner from Taziki’s. After a full day, Lisa was exhausted so it was a early bedtime.

Monday was a much better day for Lisa. Chris was about the same but he was able to work from his zero gravity chair which felt better to his back. Mimi took Leia to school then took Ivy to Waffle House for a special breakfast. Lisa worked a little that morning then we went to get pedicures/manicures for a little pampering before we picked up wings (Ivy’s pick) for lunch. After lunch, Mimi headed home to take care of some things at her house. We hung out at our house rest of the afternoon until it was time to get Leia. Lisa and Ivy headed that way as soon as we could and finally got to hung our girl and bring her home. Our hearts were so full having all 4 of us at home for the first time in what felt like forever. That evening we joined the Talley’s at Habenero’s for Wes’s birthday celebration. Later that evening we all enjoyed some sweet family time as we prepared for Ivy’s first school day the next day.

Leia had fun waking up Ivy who woke up very happy then got to enjoy waffle house after they dropped off Leia

Thankful for all that our Mimi did while Lisa was sick with Covid and Chris/Lisa were recovering

Enjoyed a little fun with our baby girl the day before she went back to school

Reunited after school and it felt so good!
