The last time we saw Gigi was August 2019. We had taken it for granted at that time spring 2020 we would see her again since she generally visits Darrell and we either go to Newnan or they come to our house but when Covid hit the visit was cancelled like so many other visits and we had a significantly longer stretch not seeing the matriarch of Chris’s side of the family. On Tuesday, May 11, 2021 we got to see our amazing Gigi for the first time since the Covid pandemic. It was a sweet time!
Gigi had gone to Newnan the week before to spend the week with Deedee and aunt Joy surprised her there. We were thankful they decided to come her to surprise the girls this week. They all arrived at our house about 10 am. We sat, relaxed, and enjoyed the sweet time catching up before Gigi and Deedee went with Lisa to check the girls out and surprise them that Gigi came to visit. We wish Leia’s face mask had not been on when she saw Gigi and realized why she was being checked out to get the full effect of her excitement. Ivy was in PE so came from outside so we captured her excitement. We headed back home after we got them to let Chris see Gigi since he had to work half a day and had not gotten to give her a hug yet either.
It was lunch time so we all headed to a local place, Backyard Market for a litter lunch before the ladies went to get pedicures and celebrate our delayed Mother’s Day celebration together. It was nice getting to relax together and pampered a little. When we went back home Deedee did math with the girlies while Gigi and Lisa sat on the porch to visit. Grandpa and Chris chilled in the den. Mimi arrived a little bit later in the afternoon to say hi and join us for dinner. Mimi and Deedee also got to finish cooking dinner since Chris and Lisa went for parent orientation at Pizitz for Leia to start middle school next year. Dinner was yummy but the sweet fellowship was the best part!
After dinner Mimi headed home, Deedee and Lisa went for a walk, and Gigi got to visit with Chris, Leia, Ivy, and Grandpa. By the time we returned from our walk the girlies were in bed and Gig was entertaining the boys in the house. We all stayed up a little bit longer savoring the time since we knew they were heading home the next morning.
Ivy got to skip early morning intervention just to get a few more minutes with Gigi the next day. Grandpa and Deedee took the girlies to school then met Chris, Lisa, and Gigi for breakfast at First Watch before we all had to say our goodbye to Chris and Lisa could go work and the rest could head back to Newnan since Gigi was flying home the next day. We are so thankful for the time we got to spend together! That is one thing that Covid stole from everyone time with loved ones; I pray none of us take it for granted again.

These ladies are each amazing in their own way and play such a vital role in our lives. They have shaped us into the parents we are today and their influence in our lives will last for generations.
