Leia is ELEVEN … she says she is now a preteen…mommy/daddy does not acknowledge preteen and decided she could stay our baby girl no matter her age. We pray that she will continue to have the zest and joy for life she has always had and continue to love God and walk in the plan He has for her precious life. A few of her favorites currently:
Favorite thing to do … ride horses
Favorite subject in school … math
Favorite dessert … Brusters’ Ice Cream Cake
Favorite place to go out to eat … Texas De Brazil
Favorite color … don’t have one, she can not decide
Favorite song … don’t have one, songs are mood dependent these days
Dream destination … Cousins Taylor’s house because she has horses
Leia woke up super excited it was her birthday! We all got a snuggle from the 11 year old in the house then decided to get moving since it is a school morning. Ivy was excited she was the the first to spot Cupcake, our elf who brought them Christmas trees for their rooms all the way from the Northpole on Leia’s birthday.

The girls had to wait to open gifts on daddy to get out to the den and mommy to finish getting breakfast in the oven … mommy should have paid more attention to the oven because she turned it on 225 instead of 350 to cook but the girls did not seem to mind as they laughed and played with each thing Leia opened that morning

Ivy was as excited as Leia to open gift. Leia is growing into such a beautiful young lady! She let Ivy open most of her gifts today for her. Love to see them both get excited over what she received.

Ivy bought a gift for Leia too; it was the same thing mommy had bought so momma returned hers. Love to see their generous spirits and love for each other.

Love the special homemade cards! These will go in our keep sake box!!

Leia did open one gift herself as Ivy was throwing the paper at daddy. Ivy excitedly volunteered to light the candle once breakfast finally got done 30 something minutes after it was put in the oven which put our morning schedule behind

Surprisingly, we never turned on the TV before school even though we had down time while waiting for breakfast. We barely had enough time to eat too since it cooked so much slower at the lower oven temperature so this is the only picture of Leia’s birthday breakfast which was not the meal but she got to make her first birthday wish of the day plus Daddy, Mommy, and the girls all got to sit down together to enjoy breakfast together. The time together and sweet memory is what make it so great; we savor the time together! Thankfully we were not late to school either as we rushed out the door, a little more rushed than we like on a birthday morning but we got to have our morning celebration.

Their school will not allow visitors for lunch but mommy had started a little tradition of checking them out on their birthday a little early for some one-on-one time after Ivy started school. However, this year we checked them both out for Ivy’s birthday for a little family lunch and time together since daddy is working from home too. He is still working from home and to be fair to Ivy we decided to check them both out today for special time with mommy and daddy. I hope this is a tradition we can continue after she starts middle school next year and high-school in a few more years but we will see what their course load is like to make that decision.

The girlies said they just wanted to play so that is what they did while mommy and daddy worked after lunch. Glad we did take a couple minutes to snap cute pictures of our birthday girl. She is such a blessing to our family and is loved more than she knows

Deedee and Grandpa arrived about 1:30 and Mimi about 3:00. The girls were excited they arrived! Leia opened their gifts with her sister’s help and we got to have sweet time together when work day was finished.

The Rhoads came a little later and she opened their gift and then facetimed with the Requena-Comfort to open their gifts…she did a good day at stretching it out!

We enjoyed dessert before dinner since Sara had D-group so she could sing happy birthday too.
Leia’s dinner choice was Moes. Daddy picked it up since momma was getting a migraine. Thankful for all the family who came over to love on Leia and celebrate with her.

We watched “Masked Singer” that evening and had a quiet night. Mommy got one more snuggle from the birthday girl that evening; Leia reminded mommy she was not officially 11 since she was born closer to midnight so it was the last snuggle with our first daughter as a 10 years old.
