This year has been a strange year and “it’s 2020” has become what we say when nothing goes right. There has been a shut down due to a pandemic that has caused many to lose jobs, friends, human connection, and sanity. However, looking at the year with a different perspective we can also say 2020 gifted everyone opportunities we have never been given before and blessed in new ways as well. There is always something to be thankful for and we chose to give thanks this year for the many blessings we have received throughout the year.
During the shut down we were able/forced to slow down as sports, activities, schools and businesses were closed. This slow down gave everyone more time to focus on what is important to each of us. There are more kids in the street playing, riding bikes, and more families walking together or having dinner around the table which gives the opportunity to connect. We have met and saw neighbors helping neighbors as store shelves were bare and some supplies were hard to come by which allowed people to be the hands and feet of God. It is a rare opportunity that everyone in the world was forcesd to slow down at the same time.
We are thankful this Thanksgiving for the family and friends we can spend time with weather it be in person or via zoom! Thankful for technology that helps us connect to loved ones far away during a year when travel was not widely done. As this year starts to wind down and the holiday season is upon us we chose not to declutter life from things that do not bring joy to our lives, not to let the busyness of the season steal time from those we love, cherish precious time spent with friends and family.

The whole gang at Mimi’s this year … it was a bigger group than we have had in a few years even though it was Covid year. We were blessed with fantastic weather which thankfully allowed us to eat outside and stay outside, socially distanced except for pictures for the most part. Thankful to spend some time with each of these beautiful souls today and pray health, love and joy over each of them this holiday season and in 2021
