Saturday, Mommy and Leia got to go to a cook out with several of Leia’s friends and their family. Unfortunately, daddy was sick and missed the fun. It was a great time! All the kids have been taking swim lessons together so the hostesses, Stephanie and Blake’s daddy (I am not trying to spell his name since I know I would mess it up) bought a blow up pool just for the occasion and to try to beat the heat. (I think they will be using it quite a bit with the heat in Alabama before they move back to Germany). All the kids thought they were big stuff since they should touch the bottom and were practicing their new tricks from their lessons. The swimming helped build up a good appetites and they all enjoyed the German sausage, watermelon, corn, potatoes, German chocolate dessert, and more as much as the adults did. Blake’s daddy did a great job cooking! After eating all the kids headed back to the pool where we got the great pictures below, the adults had been telling each child not to lean over the edge most of the afternoon. However, for the pictures we got a little too relaxed with reminders. All the kids leaned at the same time and since Leia was in the middle she was going to be the first one out. Luckily, she ‘body surfed’ on the edge of the pool for a few seconds to give the mommies time to grab the kids before any of them treated the pool and concrete below as a slip and slide (Thank you Michele for getting Leia before she went splat!).  Leia got to stay to play right up until her bed time then before heading home to check on daddy and get a quick bath before bedtime.
