Whoah cannot believe July is almost at a end and school is just around the corner :(. I know a lot of moms say they are ready for kids to be back in school but it is a dreaded time our household. We love our summer days that we can be on our own schedule and enjoy time together. Thankful we have one more year before sweet Ivy is in big girl school so we can play a little more. Below is a few highlights from July.
We have been busy purging and cleaning the house! However, we have taken time to enjoy our family time from pushing daddy in the pool on Friday night to snuggles with mommy Saturday morning.

Spent time with sweet friends. I know Ivy is going to miss Morgan at GHK next year. We tried talking his momma and daddy into sending him to kindergarten there but they said no.

This friend is AMAZING! She helped Lisa clean, purge, and gather stuff for a yard sale 3 days. That is just a little of the yard sale stuff we got 8). She’s going to get me for posting this picture but … here it is anyways

Daddy and the girls. He took them to Mimi’s to swim while mommy purged …. love them all!

Girls enjoyed playing with toys they forgot about while mommy cleaned.

Little break for ice cream and family fun before mommy and daddy start a challenge at the gym

Mommy and the girls worked on science experiments making bouncy balls and a little school work to get sweet Leia ready for first grade and little Ivy kindergarten. She is going to start it at daycare since she has already been thru 4k there.

Cookie monster Ivy always wants some of daddy’s cereal. Both girls like to get whatever is on his plate. It makes mommy laugh since daddy was not always big into sharing

Mimi and Mr Al came over for dinner Sunday night to see what the house looked like after all the purging and cleaning. Of course we have been into cooking lately and Leia asked to make a cake for her class at daycare so we pulled Mimi into the fun making a pineapple upside down and all around cake that she saw on Strawberry Short Cake

Finished product … this was the first time any of us made a pineapple upside down cake

Girls decided it would be fun to sleep in a tent so they built one and slept in it several nights. Love the imagination and seeing them have fun

We had a massive yard sale to rid the house of the junk we purged. Deedee and Gigi came to play with girls while we had the sale and visit us. It was great getting to see them. Deedee helped set up the lemonade stand and treats Leia sold, sad I neglected to get a picture but it was great! Leia made $13 at her first lemonade stand. The girls had a picnic inside with Morgan too. Not sure what else happened since we were manning the sale but the girls said they had lots of fun.

The twins prepping something

After the yard sale we went to hang out at Mimi’s and to celebrate Al’s birthday with them

Always enjoy dinner at Mimi’s

Happy Birthday Mr Al

Sunday morning we did all get to enjoy a big southern style breakfast before Gigi and Deedee went back to Georgia

Girls had fun counting coins with us and making things out of them

Chris and I were able to go out on our anniversary since the girls went to play with Morgan at his house. Love getting to spend our life together! It makes the days ahead seem sweeter knowing we will be beside each other

Leia got to see come of her sweet friends at Martina’s birthday party and she lost her tooth there eating a chip

Mimi took us all to see Pocahontas at the Alabama Theather. It was great! The entertainment before was almost as good as the show. There was free giveaways. Leia won a ticket to Alabama’s Splash; going to try to fit it in before school starts back. There were lots of people dressed up in costumes, the police brought horses by, photo booths where girls got to pick from an array of head pieces, and of course popcorn and treats for the show. Wish we had heard about it sooner in the summer but we will be on the outlook next year.

Glad your garage sale went well!! You sure keep busy and know Gigi enjoyed her visit with you too. Love, Aunt Joy
