March Madness Begins

Wow, this week feels like the Comfort March madness began with the level of exhaustion in our household. Over the weekend the beautiful spring weather arrived and we have tried to take full advantage of it by staying outside as much as we could. The weekend began with lunch and playtime at Mimi’s with the family and sweet neighbors, Stacy and Lisa went to visit Nana at rehab center while the dads took the girls to the park, then Stacy and Lisa ran to store to grab stuff to cook that evening at our house. The girls have not gotten together in a few days so the extra playtime was fabulous and getting sister/brother time was wonderful; it’s great to get to laugh and enjoy time with family. Sunday was a busy day with church and getting ready for the week. Sadly, Chris traveled all week but we girls kept busy (he is the one who reins momma in sometimes). Monday night we went to the gym after a long day at work before getting home to cook and clean. Tuesday morning was rushed to get the errands done since the girls had dentist appointment right after lunch (thankful both got a great report) then that afternoon went for play time and dinner with the Coco’s at their house. Wednesday night was Awanas after work which always puts us in bed a little later than normal but this week the girls couldn’t get settle down when we got home and were up till close to 10 o’clock (we normally go to bed at 7:30 on school nights).  Thursday Ivy went on her first field trip, of course she was a little tired and did not want to participate; thankful for a short nap that afternoon to brighten her spirit. Thursday when Leia got off bus we saw our neighbor getting home from school so the girls went to Stella’s house to play then we ended up having her over for dinner and play that evening while her mom ran to the store. Friday, Leia was out of school so we slept in, if you call 6:30 sleeping in. Leia had requested a mommy-Leia day since she has to go to school and Ivy gets mommy-Ivy days. We took Ivy to daycare, went to gym, then Leia’s day began where she got to pick everything. Thankful daddy got home midday and we got to spend some family time together too after we picked Ivy up. Plus, daddy can make sure his girls get in bed on time since the girls got to bed later than we should have most evenings this week. This is a sweet time in life! God, even when life seems to get busy, help us not to rush it, cherish the time, focus on the people in our life, show our children how loved they are everyday and how to love others. Thankful for our little family and friends.

Sister family dinner … Stacy and Lisa really planned a great dinner for the time we had and threw it together quickly… when all 4 littles and 4 adults give a thumbs up it really is good especially with some of the picky ones we have in the bunch.  Love cooking in the kitchen together and laughing with them all (missed Mimi in the kitchen with us) .

Tuesday fun with the Coco’s. Thankfully they do not have makeup to do makeovers on Lisa and Michelle at the Coco’s house. Blessed to get to play with one of Leia’s earliest friends. They had fun playing, hunting eggs, and building the fire to make s’mores for dessert. Fun night!

Sweet Leia has worked hard to finish her first Awana’s Sparks book. She got a ribbon Wednesday night at church. She said afterwards she can give the first book to Sara and Katie since they liked coming with her one week and they don’t get to come every week then after she finishes her second book she will give them that one too so they each have one. Love her sweet heart!

Ivy’s first field trip was a success. They went to the library for story time. It is comical though since she acted like it was the first time she has ever been to the library and story time despite the fact mommy asks to take her frequently and she refuses. Of course, she did not want to get out of mommy’s arm reach today and would not do the tootie-ta dance with everyone even though it is one of her favorite dances right now.

Leia’s day had minimal phone interactions so there are very few pictures (all the ones we have are shown) and she got to make most the decisions. We started off taking sissy to school, getting a donut, then mommy made her go to gym but rest of day was hers to choice. We get pedicures, went to Chuck-e-cheese, had pizza for lunch, then came home to see daddy and enjoy a little R&R watching a couple shows snuggling. By then it was afternoon so we picked up Ivy to go to get ice-cream and play at the park. Next stop was shoe store to get girls shoes that fit, followed by dinner at Zoe’s (again, Leia’s choice). Great day focusing on our big girl and spending much desired family time together.
