Leia

Halloween 2014

Ivy slept in after her late night. Both girls wanted a morning at home so we skipped play group and had a little pajama play time at home. When mommy suggested going to Chuck-e-cheese before heading our to Mimi’s the girls jumped up ready to put on their clothes . Since the girls wore their Halloween costumes when they entered they got 50 tickets. We played about an hour and won more tickets so they could pick out treats before leaving; there were no ticks at Chuck-e-cheese. We got to Mimi’s house and Leia helped Mimi roll out sausage balls before we ran over to Nana’s to take a treat to her then to the store for trick-a-treat baskets since mommy forgot to get ours from home. Stacy texted that they were on their way to the house so we left with baskets and two my little pony costumes (they did NOT hold up for more than 15 minutes – disappointed!). Sara and Katie got to Mimi’s not long after we got back and the squeals of fun began. Mimi had cupcakes for them to decorate while dinner was cooking. After dinner we headed out to trick-a-treat. The first house we went too had a dog and Santa Claus who called the dogs reindeers; our girls were not buying it and ran away scared. We trick-a-treated at a couple houses successfully but then a dog ran out and the only child that did not leap into an adults arms was Leia. Thus she and Lisa were sent to knock on doors after that on “dog patrol” – no one would come to the door if we heard a dog. We didn’t get to many more houses before we decided to go pass candy out and makes s’mores. The girls were cheering for trick-a-treaters to come to the house. Unfortunately with the combination of the threat of rain, cooler weather, church festivals; and/or possibly scaring kids off hearing someone yell at them there were not that many coming by to trick-a-treat. We did get to warm up by Mimi’s new fire pit and enjoy s’mores and several treats from Mimi’s bowl before deciding to head inside for baths and a little relaxing time by the fire inside before saying good night.
