Week before Christmas

This Christmas season seemed so short! Between traveling 2 weeks then coming home and Leia being sick a week we have not had time to do our baking, crafts, celebrate with neighbors and friends, or simply savor the season and time with loved ones … Here’s to cramming it all in the last few days before Christmas (we did pick and choose so it wasn’t stressful 🙂 but I did still feel rushed)

Mimi, Stacy and Lisa had a little mother-daughter time getting pedicures and going to a yummy dinner. Thank you momma for the date night! Love getting to spend time with two fabulous women.

Mimi wanted us to get to have a date bight with our husbands too so Friday night she treated Chris and Lisa to dinner and kept our girls then Saturday it was Stacy’s turn. Thankful we got to connect and have adult conversation over the dinner table. They girls enjoyed their night too! While we were out Mimi let the girls build a gingerbread house. Although I was told Ivy did more eating than constructing ;). Their house turned out beautiful.

Saturday, Chris got some father-son time on the golf course while the girls went to practice for their Christmas performance.

On the way home Deedee treated the starving girls to lunch (Thank you!) and Lisa made mad dash to get a few things done before heading across the street to enjoy hot coco and treats on this warm December day while waiting for Santa to pass by our houses

The rest of the day we stayed in and dry (except grandpa and daddy ran to the store for a few items). That evening Deedee and Lisa baked a few treats for the girl’s Christmas program Sunday. Thank you Deedee for making some of them!

Sunday, we took it easy during the morning and played at home and got to enjoy a family lunch…so blessed

Thank you for coming to watch our princesses in their Christmas performance. You all have such a influence on our lives and we appreciate you and love you all more than you know!

Sunday night Sara got to spend the night with us for the first time. Katie stayed home since she had gotten to stay the night a couple times. It was late when we got home from the Christmas show so we skipped baths, grabbed a burger and fires (girls said they were hungry but none at much), played a little, then opened the surprise from Mimi. Once the girls saw the surprise they wanted to go night night so they could have stars on the ceiling. Sara woke up between 3:30 and 4, ready to go play and craft. After assuring her it was not time to get up I put her back down but it required me going up and down the stairs a few times which ultimately kept me from going back to sleep till close till Chris’s alarm went off for work then the girls were up. I was too tired for craft time so the girls played while I cooked breakfast and played more afterwards for me to get alert. We decided to head to Stacy’s house and I took some of the crafts for the 4 muchkins to do together. Blessed getting to make sweet memories with the girls.

Mimi, Stacy, and Lisa also hosted their first mother-daughter Christmas gathering. Think we will have to do it again net year.
