Leia

PTC & White Waters

What a fabulous weekend! We packed up to head to visit Grandpa, Deedee, Uncle Diego, Aunt Kelly, Adrian and Alicia. – I cannot count the number of times Leia asked in the car, ‘how much longer till we get there?’ The girls were excited their cousins were at grandpa and Deedee’s when we arrived. Adrian and Leia got busy playing. These two get alone so great and have a blast when they are together! Deedee mentioned how Alicia normally takes a little while to wake up but her eyes brightened up and a big smile came over her face when she saw Ivy and those two were off for fun. It is a joy having cousins close in age so they can play and grow up together. Aunt Kelly and Uncle Diego arrived a few minutes later for everyone to head to the pool for a little more fun. Mommy’s hope was water-bug aunt Kelly could get Leia excited to swim but Leia is as stubborn as her daddy and refused (not that her daddy is the only stubborn one in the house ;)). Ivy on the other hand wants to show off in the water! She went down the waterslide with aunt Kelly (cried part of it but laughed some too) and would jump in un assisted (she has NO FEAR of the water and has been picked up off the bottom of the baby pool not too long ago – she is starting swim lessons this week!). It was a long travel day for the girls with lots of play and fun with no nap so we headed to bed for a much needed restful night when sweet Ivy started asking to go night night.

Always fun playing in Adrian and Leia’s, I mean grandpa’s chair

Saturday, was beautiful! Leia had requested going to the park to feed the ducks so Aunt Kelly, Adrian, and Alicia met Deedee, Ivy, Leia, Chris and Lisa at a park near Deedee and Grandpa’s house. Ivy was happy to feed the ducks from mommy’s arms, she would put up a fuss if you started to put her down. Alicia had no fear and even kept feeding them after a couple geese snapped at her. Leia enjoyed feeding the ducks but when the geese came over she handed the remaining bread in her hand to Alicia to head to the park area with a safety gate around it. Of course, fearless, Adrian did not mind the geese coming around and tried to protect the girls by shooing them away when they got close. The kids had a blast running around the park! They started snacking on the cereal Leia brought near lunch time so we decided to head to lunch at Chickfila (our girls favorite, not Adrian’s favorite place – I need to remember that so we can pick somewhere else next time he enjoys). After Leia turned down ice-cream mommy thought she may be a little tired. Kelly and Lisa took the kids to rest while Deedee took Chris to the golf course to meet grandpa for a little golfing fun. The girls napped well but was so excited to wake up since their cousins were coming back for dinner and to play that evening. Chris called and told us he was playing golf well so he stayed to finish the round instead of the 9 holes they had planned on playing – grandpa maybe a little tired after two rounds but Chris shot par – way to go daddy! :). They made it home just in time for dinner. Afterwards, we had told the kids they could do water balloons. They had a blast soaking grandpa with water balloons. I was impressed with Leia’s skills! She threw it right at his chest and got him good – I am not thinking he was expecting it or it may had been blocked. Unfortunately she did not want to get her daddy so he did not get soak but not for lack of trying by Lisa and Kelly – we need to take lessons from Leia. After the water balloon clean up the kids did sparklers and Chris shot rockets for them (hope the black spot in the yard turns green soon). After all the days fun the kids ended it by playing in the bath and calling it a night.

We woke up a little earlier Sunday morning than Saturday to head for our White Water fun day. We were not sure how it would go since Leia did NOT want to do the water slide on Friday nor would she really swim (yes she loved being in the pool but only where she could touch or holding onto someone). Nonetheless, mommy and daddy packed up and loaded the car while Leia and Ivy enjoyed the last few minutes of playtime at Grandpa and Deedee’s for this trip. On the road, Leia knew Adrian would be at White Water and asked ever few minutes how much longer (seemed to be a theme when she was heading to see Adrian). Diego, Kelly, and the kids were waiting on us when we arrived. We followed them in and headed to the kiddies-land to claim a few chairs for the day. We started off slow getting the girls into the water and slide. Leia wanted to make sure we were there watching in the beginning so I was not worried about her running off but by the end I had to search for her; she is cautious though and never went too far. We did not make it up any of the really big slides and mommy had to ride a few with her to convince her to do them but there were a few she did by herself. She was proud of herself too! We were just happy they all were having a good time. Of course, we had to keep a close watch on wondering Ivy. She thinks she is as big as her sister but does not listen as well and will hide instead of coming if you call her name. However, going down a baby slide she thought she was big stuff. If there had not been bigger kids playing on it too I may have relaxed a little since she could climb up by herself and come down but since the big kids were knocking down the babies we were on protecting mode so she would not get trampled to the ground. Adrian has NO FEAR! He will do any slide there and enjoys the big slides but was so sweet to hang out with Leia and do the little slides. Everyone was having such a great time we stayed till way after naps. Ivy conked out before we hit the interstate while Leia was busy telling us how much fun she had and how she wants to go back again. It was a great time and we all had a blast! Thank you Kelly and Diego for inviting us!

No pictures of the fun – electronics and water do not agree with each other

  1. What great pictures you got this weekend. It was so much fun to have all four grandkids together all weekend. Thanks for making such wonderful memories.

  2. It looked like a wonderful weekend! We had a great time with Rick, Dawn, Isla and Kellan here. On Friday night Dan, Nancy, Reed and Raina came along with Kathy and Jonah. The cousins also had a great time! It was busy but fun!
