New Years Eve marked the end of the company that my parents built. There have been so many great memories made between the walls of their office. We always felt comfortable to pop in to visit just to say hey or sit down for an extended conversation, enjoy lunch, all four grand-girls have slept, played and ‘worked’ there with Mimi and Papa (Mimi had to work extra hard keeping them but they happily did it because they knew it brought peace to their baby girls minds knowing their itsy bitsy baby was with Mimi and Papa), the conference room was often turned into a party room to celebrate birthdays, and of course business was completed. Legally, the company may have been daddy’s but like everything in my parents’ life it would not had been what it was without them working together. They have always shown sister and I the importance of hard work and sticking together. Daddy would be so honored and proud of watching mom continue doing what is needed to be done to ensure the clients are taken care of and how she looked out for their employees as she closed their business (he always was passionate about his business, clients, and employees). She ensured their staff will continue serving their clients at a new company but I will always be proud of them for what God allowed them to accomplish and the lessons they taught me while running a successful company together.
