(This post written Thursday, December 17th but I neglected to hit publish; blame it on sleep deprivation)
It has been a busy week for little Miss Leia. This is the last week daddy had to work for the rest of the year (Yeah! We will have some more time for family bonding). Leia and mommy spent a couple nights with Mimi and Poppa, visited Aunt Stacy, cousin Sara and Katie, and went to meet Nana and Mama. Then Leia, daddy, mommy and Mimi went to Leia’s two week check-up today before daddy went to work and the girls went to Mimi;s since our house was being cleaned and the heating repair people were coming to the house . The doctor told us that Leia’s bilirubin is good now and she gained 12 ounces since our first doctor visit 10 days ago (PTL). Even though she did gain weight at a good rate for a breast-fed baby Leia still is not up to her birth weight so we have to go again in two weeks for a weight check. We also scheduled her 2 month check up and the recheck for her hearing tests in February. Please continue praying her weight keeps going in the upward direction and her ears have cleared up so she passes the recheck. Several other mothers and the director at a lactation class have encouraged us that once a little baby gets up to about 10 pounds that mommy and daddy gets more sleep since the little one can go longer between feedings. I am praying that we get there soon and she learns how to eat more/better in a setting. We are attempting to train Leia to be a good eater like her mommy and daddy. This weekend Leia gets to meet Aunt Kelly and Uncle Diego (pictures from that blessed event to come soon).
