Christmas Break Week One: Home time, Glow Wild, Adult Dinner, Spend the night with Mimi

Monday was the first official day the girls were out of school. We have always tried to do fun activities during their break and ask them what is something they want to do. This year when we asked we got dead silence. They are aware things are different and did not want to make us sad we could not do what they wanted as our tradition goes. After a little more assurance, one daughter said they wanted to travel since it had been so long. Unfortunately, we will not be traveling and can not comply with their request at this time but we still want this to be a fun break so momma and dad started talking. We are thankful that Chris is off Chemo this week; in fact we do not have another one scheduled at this time. We are not sure if it was the Chemo or the low blood cell count that was impacting his energy level but it seems since the blood transfusion he is awake more so Monday we spent the day at home letting Chris rest up and bought tickets to go to Glow Wild at the zoo.

Momma made everyone shaped pancakes to start the break off with a little festive fun. The girls went downstairs to play while Lisa was giving Chris his shot and meds. Chris wanted to rest after that so Lisa went to finish up her training and work, hopefully for the rest of this year. Lisa also headed to her work’s Christmas lunch midday. Of course on the way back home she brought everyone back lunch too. Upon her return their was laughter as Chris and the girls were all playing the Xbox his co-workers brought. Lisa joined them watching and ended up crying from laughing so hard. It was a great day and we told the girls that evening we were going out too. They were a little excited to get to go somewhere as a family.

We got to Go Wild and headed in to meet up with the Talley’s. Chris asked Wes to go to push the wheel chair so Lisa could simply enjoy being there with the girls. He said he loves watching us have fun. We love him being with us and having fun together. It does not matter where we are or what we are doing it is simply about being together and creating memories. It was not crowded either. Even on the train there was seats available. The kids rode the carousal 5 or 6 times which was not even half full. We walked around looking at the lights and enjoying precious time together. It was a great night that will be treasured memory.

Our girls have always loved the carousal

Loved that Leia and Ivy were up for photo ops tonight! They are both beautiful inside and out. Pray that God continues to reveal Himself to them and fill them with His joy, love, and peace throughout their life

Blessed to have sweet friends! Loved getting out of the house for a fun Christmas celebration too.

Heading out, feeling blessed, and snagging last minute pictures

Our daddy is loved so much!!! Thankful to have a little fun with him this Christmas season

Tuesday was a home kind of morning with lots of R&R. The girlies and Chris had fun playing xBox. Mimi and Sara came over to go to the hair place with the Comfort girls. Leia and Ivy had a good time playing with the Norris kids. After we all got our hair finished and styled, Mimi took the girlies to her house. She gave the the option to go anywhere they wanted but they said they just wanted to go back to her house so they did for the night. Lisa and Chris picked up our house and waited for our friends to come over for dinner and a little adult time. It was a great night for us! We enjoyed laughter, dinner, and sweet fellowship with friends that have poured into us, helped us, and prayed over us for the past few months. Thankful for each of the couples that came to our home and the time that we got to spend with each of them.

Morning fun with our two girls!

Fun time playing Xbox together

Snuggles and FaceTime

Wednesday morning Chris slept in until almost ten. Lisa got things done around the house. The girlies enjoyed time with Mimi. They enjoyed Mimi’s “breakfast buffet”, snuggled watching TV, drove the golf cart, went shopping, and played games. Momma headed out to get them that afternoon and got to visit a little bit while Chris watched a movie and chilled at home. When we got home we played the xBox with daddy, ate dinner, and then Chris said he was exhausted so we let him go lay down while the girlies and mom just hung out and postponed our family game night.

Morning snuggles are always sweet!

The girlies went shopping and got daddy a gift then Ivy wrapped it and mommy enjoyed coffee by the fireplace

Fun time playing games they picked out

The girlies saw what our elves did while they were away when they got home

Ivy was mad they messed up her room but Chris enjoyed playing his xBox

Thursday morning was another low key day. Our sweet neighbor came down to take some family pictures for us as a Christmas gift to us. We were excited to get new family pictures! After getting ready and going outside for pictures Chris’s energy was wiped for the day. We decided to chill out and rest the remainder of the day. We opted for a family movie night in the bedroom so if daddy fell asleep he did not have to move. Loved the sweet family day and day to rest up before family came to town to celebrate Christmas with us.
