FIF planned a spring horse show for the kids to end the session. It has not been quite a year since the girls started riding but they both did amazing jobs! They did not ride in the same group this time like they did in the fall so both had a chance for a blue ribbon. This show had food trucks, yard games, and more tents than the last one since it was significantly hotter. The girls did not seem to mind the heat until after they finished riding and were just sitting around then they were ready to head home or to Mimi’s pool to cool off. It day was fun at the ranch and the girls did a great job at the show!
Photo op before the show. Thankful Mimi was willing to come brave the heat and cheer on our girls with us. Daddy was already in the arena during the photo op with the girls but we got pictures of him in the arena

Making sweet friends at the ranch

Parents had to volunteer for the show. Sweet daddy led horses for his volunteer slot. He was offered a job again at the ranch as he made a horse backup that everyone said was stubborn and would not listen

Ivy had a great ride! She controlled her horse better than most in the group. Loved seeing the smile on her face and joy in her eyes. Both Chris and Lisa were near other experience riders who were talking what they thought the placements would be and mentioned multiple people say they thought Ivy would get blue ribbon. She did not come home with the blue ribbon this time though but she had a great ride and showed her teammates she will be one to beat in future competitions

The vaulting class did a dance. They needed more dancers so asked the girls to perform last Tuesday. Loved watching them crush it and see the joy on their faces as they danced with sweet friends.

Leia did an amazing job riding! She showed amazing control and pose throughout the performance. There were other horses misbehaving that could have led to bucking and riders being harmed; the owner and trainers were across the arena but Leia maneuvered the situation like a pro. Even the owner of the ranch publicly thanked Leia for her control she had during the situations. The control she showed and performance landed her the blue ribbon at the ribbon ceremony for her group.

After a HOT day at the ranch Mimi’s pool was the perfect place to cool off. We enjoyed the time with family at the pool and grilling out a yummy dinner. It did turn out that half the gang was sun-kissed after the day outside but it was a great day and will give us a base tan for the beach trip later next week.

This girl makes a splash everywhere she goes … pray she always has her zest for life
