Leia

Glamping at Mimi’s

Mimi and the girls have been talking about camping for several years. This year we pulled the trigger and had a glamping night. Leia had gone to a friends glamping birthday party but had to move the party inside due to rain but we were blessed Friday evening and had the perfect weather for some family, glamping fun. Mimi ordered the tent and had a company come set it up then Mimi set up corn hole, the fire pit, and gathered chairs for an evening of fun with her favorite ladies. The Comfort girls picked up the Rhoads asa soon as school was over to start our family, fun night.

Everyone was excited to see the tent when we arrived and scoped out the perfect spot to sleep. Then the girls determined it was hot so jumped in the 71 degree pool. They had a good time but had to warm up in the bath afterwards. Uncle Mark came out for dinner but did not stay long. As the sun started setting Mimi started the fire and we all made our way back to our camp site. We played corn hole; Ivy rocked it! Enjoyed relaxing time in the hammock; one of Leia’s favorite places. Sit around the fire to enjoy a s’more and stories. Before we knew it we were losing people saying they were tired.

Aunt Stacy was the first one to lay down followed by Leia. The rest of us watched the fire burn out a little bit. Sara, Katie, and Ivy all headed in about the same time while Mimi and Lisa stayed up 30 more minutes to make sure the fire was out. It was a rare, cool night in May (low 49). We all laid down but not all of us slept as we heard the tent unzip a little after midnight as Stacy escaped to the house. Around 1:30 there were dogs barking like crazy, at 2:30 there sounded like there was a police chase through the woods, Ivy woke up at 3:30 cold, at 4:45 there was more dogs or animal sounds, at 5:30 Leia decided to go to the hammock, and at 5:50 Mimi and Lisa was gather kindling to get another fire started to warm everyone up. As the fire was catching, Lisa headed up to make hot chocolate, tea, and coffee. Stacy got up too and helped make the drinks.

We headed back down to enjoy the early morning together around the fire. It was a peaceful morning. The girls warmed up then made their way to the hammock, came back to warm up, played corn hole, came back to warm up, finished up our drinks and then were saying they were hungry so we all started gathering our camping supplies to head up to the house to cook. Sara and Mimi cooked the breakfast while Lisa continued breaking down the camp site, Stacy enjoyed coffee and sweet time with the littles then helped carry supplies to the basement. We headed in to help finish up breakfast and had a family style breakfast outside. The adults went for a nice walk while the kids played. Even though the morning started early it flew by! Before we knew it, it was time for us to head out for the Comfort girls to head to the ranch for their horse lessons. Everyone said it was a fun night though and they would like to do it again.
