Leia’s Golden Birthday

This birthday marked Leia’s golden birthday, two on  the second fo December. It is hard to believe that our baby girl is TWO! Time sure has flown; we try to treasure and live each day to the fullest. Leia had a big birthday celebration! It lasted 3 day. On her birthday, Leia woke up to mommy and Ivy bringing a card and balloon bouquet into her bedroom, singing “Happy Birthday to Leia, Happy Birthday to Leia, Happy Birthday to you Happy Birthday Princess Leia”. Thank you Miss Heather for coming over while daddy was out of town so Leia could be surprised with a balloon bouquet. Leia loved her balloons and Tinkerbell birthday card. She read it to sister several times before she decided they could go downstairs.

Before we made it down the stairs Mimi came in with cousins Sara and Katie. They all had decided to come have breakfast withe the birthday girl and spend the morning with her. Plus, Sara and Katie wanted Leia to open her gift on her actual birthday instead of at her party so she got to open it up too. All three girls played with her Little People Nativity Scene until mommy and Mimi got breakfast ready. After breakfast the girls played with Mimi while Lisa went and picked up the cake. Leia got TWO cakes (one for her party and a small Tinkerbell one for her real birthday). The girls sang Happy Birthday to her again and got cake as their mid morning snack (a rare treat around here).  Leia had been asking all week to go ride the carousel so mommy had told her on her birthday we got to do anything she wanted so to the mall we went.

Leia’s cousins wanted to ride the train but Leia would have nothing to do with it since she had a one track mind … the carousel. Sara, Katie, and Mimi rode the train though while mommy, Ivy, and Leia walked around the mall waiting on the carousel to open. As soon as we got to the carousel all the girls jumped on (Should I be worried that the attendant at the carousel recognizes us now?!?). After riding the first time everyone picked what they wanted for lunch, however, Leia only ate the special treat Mimi bought them before lunch. After lunch, Leia asked to ride again so since it was her special day, to the carousel we went again. This time the attendant even gave Leia a brithday present, a voucher for a free ice cream cone. Mimi was at her best that day, spoiling the grand-girls! On the way out they each got another surprise, a balloon animal. Leia and Sara both picked a tweetie bird while Katie got a frog. The girls all enjoyed Leia’s birthday morning together.

Leia had more special visitors come get her out of bed when she woke up from her nappy. Instead of mommy coming in when she woke from her nap, Tio Diego and Adrian woke her up. Instead of getting a snack when she came downstairs she opened another present they brought her when she came down stairs. Leia and Adrian had a great time playing with the play-dough ice-cream maker they gave her. The kids made everyone yummy ice-cream treats with it. Just before the kids got finished with that, Daddy arrrived home earlier than expected (yeah daddy’s home!). He headed out to cut grass/pick up leaves to prepare for Leia’s Tinkerbell party tomorrow. The kids played down stairs with Tio Diego while aunt Kelly and Lisa feed the little sisters and Chris finished up Leia’s birthday dinner request, spaghetti. Leia got to share more birthday cake with cousin Adrian, Aunt Kelly, tio Diego, and daddy after we ate dinner. Then after bath time Leia opened up the rest of her presents from daddy, mommy, and sissy.
