December Weekend Fun

The most wonderful time of the year is here yet there is not as many Christmas festivities this year but it is a perfect time to slow down and refocus on what the season is really about. A gift from 2020. There is only 12 days until Christmas and one week of school remaining for the girls this year. Soaking in each moment and enjoying sweet time with those we love…what the season is really about … what a great weekend!

Thursday evening we decorated our nails with color street then on Friday mommy/daddy on a date while the girls hung out with Anna and then negotiated spending the night with Alex too

Double date night with the Talley’s

Saturday morning Wes even delivered donuts to our house for Chris and Lisa on his way back home. We cheered Ivy on to victory for a 18-7 win with her second basketball game of the season then headed to Mimi’s for the afternoon/evening

Always fun to bake Christmas goodies with Mimi and sister! Sara joined in on the baking this year for a little bit too. The other girlies just sampled for us

Sara came up with the idea to cover her face in powder sugar but we used most of it in cooking so Mimi suggested flour. Thankfully aunt Lisa suggested going outside for the fun and of course Ivy wanted to join in when she saw what was going on

That evening Ivy made another Christmas ornament for us:
“2020 a time of not seeing friends and family. Covid is stupid”
Think the littles are tired of Covid when we focus on the negatives but I can not help but think this might be a little blessing too for us to draw family and close friends near and shift our focus to what really matters

Sunday the girls decorated the ‘wrapping paper’ for their teacher gifts … love that they are using their time and talents for teacher gifts this year instead of mommy just buying gifts

Monday, mommy and daddy’s Christmas gift arrived … love our new living room furniture
