The girls have grown so much since Papa walked through the heavenly gates at the young age of 58. Their memories of him are through the blog post and stories we tell. Today, he would have turned 66 years old. This is the 8th birthday we have celebrated without him; the girls love still getting to celebrate his birthday. Most years we get the whole family together but this year was a simple celebration since Katie had a soccer tournament and mom had taken her COVID test and isolating for a medical procedure this week. No matter weather we are together or not, each of Papa’s girls celebrate him on his day somehow! We made your wish and blew out your candles with the cakes Mimi sent, just the way Leia did on the last birthday we were blessed to celebrate with him. I can still hear your laugh as she opened the gifts and we headed outside to throw a styrofoam plane we’d gotten you as a fun gift. Even at 58 you acted like a kid; Mimi always said he was her biggest kids. May we all have your child-like spirit until the day we are called home too.
Happy Birthday Papa!
