Leia

San Francisco

Chris and Lisa took their first trip just the two of them since Leia was born. Chris had a work trip in San Jose so we took a few days before to sight see in San Francisco. We made this trip as relaxing as possible and enjoyed a very low-key trip (napping every afternoon). We did get to see a lot though! We toured the Fisherman Wharf, China Town, and Union Square, crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, drove/walked around Sausalito, hiked in Muir Woods, visited Coit Tower, and drove down Lumbar Street. Unfortunately, we did not get to tour Alcatraz Island since there were no tours available while we were there so we will have to go back. An added bonus to the trip was catching up /meeting friends that live in California. Chris met up with a high-school friend, Jennifer (Lisa got to meet her, she was a sweetie) and we met up with a couple we originally met on our honeymoon cruise, Eddie and April. It was great seeing all of them!

The trip home for both (separately) was long though! Lisa missed Leia like crazy (it was the first time she’d left Leia overnight). She wanted to get home as soon as possible and almost missed the connection flight from ATL to BHM due to flight issues (she has never had to run so fast in the ATL airport!). Chris’s original flight home had a significant delay due to a mechanical issue so he had to catch a different flight than originally planned which took much longer to get home. We enjoyed our trip but there is no place like home and we love having our girl(s) with us; next trip will have to be a family trip so Leia can fly in a plane again (she always points to the sky and says “bye-bye plane” when she hears them flying in the sky.
