Leia

Thanks to the Dobbs’ and Comfort’s

It has been a whirlwind six days. We headed back from the beach (Santa Rosa, FL) on Wednesday (5/25) after three and a half days of fantastic weather with the Dobbs.  Chuck, Sheila, Stacy, Mark, Sara, Katie, Chris, Lisa, and Leia had a great time playing on the beach, the ocean, and swimming in the pool.

We left Wednesday morning and headed back to Birmingham with both excitement (Lisa) and some apprehension (Chris).  We were going to get into our new home (yeah) but we had a lot of painting, unpacking, and organizing to do (boo).

I [Chris] admit that I hate moving.  If it were not for the extremely generous help from The Dobbs and Comforts’ I would have not made it through the last four days.

Chuck and Sheila attacked Leia’s new room.  The plan was to prime over the neon green walls and paint with lovable pink.  Due to the poor job of the previous painters and the lighter color it took a lot more work.  Chuck and Sheila kept at it, priming the walls, two coats of loveable pink.  Of course they could not Leia’s room end there, they painted the ceiling and the baseboards.  Leia wants Mimi and Papa to know that she loves her new room and that her parents Chris and Lisa cannot put into words their appreciation of their hard work.

Gene and Darrell also came over to help out in the house.  Darrell arrived on Wednesday and painted the upstairs guest bathroom but she spent most of her time unpacking all of our clothes and organizing our closets something that Lisa DESPISES. (I [Lisa] appreciate it more than you know and am so excited my closet looks so nice and organized!)  Lisa and I found out that we have more clothes then we ever knew and both of us have a lot of socks! (Lisa put several pairs in a box for Kings Ranch to get rid of them.)

Gene came to paint and paint he did.  Since I [Chris] am not allowed to trim walls due to more poor attention to detail Gene finished the master bedroom and bathroom.  That was all that was planned for the painting.  However, when we went to touch up some of the rooms that we had not planned to change the color we found that either the previous paint was too old or the touch up just did not look good.  Gene jumped in and went to work. The dining room, Ivy’s room and the craft room all got new paint on the walls.

The playroom was attacked by Chuck, Sheila, and Gene.

In the end the kitchen, living room, guest room, and basement were all that were not repainted.

Again Lisa, Leia, and I cannot say thanks enough for all of the help that Chuck, Sheila, Gene, and Darrell provided.  I [Chris] would probably be curled up on the floor rocking and muttering from the daunting tasks left.

We love you all.  THANKS!

Love,

Lisa and Chris

P.S.

We will post pictures of the house once it is presentable.  If you want to see pictures from the real estate listing click here.
