Grandpa and Deedee Visit

Grandpa and Deedee came to visit and keep the girls while Lisa worked on Monday so we did not have to pay for a week of daycare for a one day work week and they could spend the 4th of July with us. Thankful they are willing to come hang out with the girls and love on them like they do!

Sunday, Chris and Gene went to play golf so we had a few hours just the girls. Leia and Ivy could not agree on what to do Sunday since Leia wanted movies or Chuckecheese and Ivy wanted to go to the zoo or swim. Deedee took Leia and mommy took Ivy for some one on one time. Both of us ended up with plan B. They movie was sold out so Leia ended up at Chuckecheese with Deedee. Ivy and mommy were on the way to the zoo when Ivy decided she just wanted to go home so we went home and read books and played board games.

After the couple hours apart it was sister fun time playing in the little pool

Monday while mommy and daddy were working the girls had a fun day at Splash Adventure with Grandpa and Deedee. They invited Sara and Katie too. Ivy was still a little short for a couple rides so Grandpa and Deedee took turns taking her to do things she wanted while the other three rode rides Ivy was not quite ready to ride. All six of them said it was a fun day and the dive show they went to was amazing where a girl jumped off a 85′ platform into a small pool; can’t wait to go see that if we get to go another time this summer. Thank you Grandpa and Deedee for taking them all!

The girlies all enjoyed the amusement park area

Tuesday morning Grandpa and Deedee took the girls out to breakfast to Waffle House and to Urban Air to jump and ride the go carts. Grandpa and Leia rode in the single cars while Deedee rode with Ivy in the double. Daddy did a good job helping Ivy conquer her fear when he got her to ride at Bentley’s party because she told Deedee to speed up. Lisa got home about lunch time so since Ivy did not want to go to the movie she chilled out with mommy while they took Leia to see her long awaited movie, incredibles II. Ivy finally got to play with AlexAnn that afternoon too. Ivy had been asking to for weeks but with everyone’s crazy summer schedule we had not been able to so both girls got what they had been asking to do for a couple weeks. Then that evening we all got to go start celebrating America’s 242nd birthday with fireworks at Star Lake.

Fun afternoons for all

Then the girls took Grandpa back to the 1950’s with the roller skating servers

Last year we saw fireworks on the Third of July and figured out it was near Star Lake at hoover Country Club so we set a reminder this year to not forget. AlexAnn and her family was going too so we joined them and other friends to watch some fireworks.

We took a couple snacks to share; Max loved watermelon
