Leia

October 1st Fall is in the Air

October always is the month when we feel like fall is officially here even though this year it is still pushing 90 outside. We kicked fall off decorating for Halloween/Thanksgiving despite the fact the girls say we don’t look halloweenish since we don’t have anything spooky in our yard. Ivy and Leia both think our neighbors “spooky house” is the coolest. Today, Ivy and mommy went on a walk and when we were walking we stopped by and they were outside so Ivy got to get up close and personal with a couple decorations and evened named their skeleton, Mr Bones. We had to take Leia back that afternoon so she could touch some of them too. Mimi and Mr Al came over to visit a little while too that afternoon so they got to see the cool house while we went for a walk too.

Kicking off October and decorated for fall

Love when Leia walks with us. Special moments together just chatting about life.

We enjoy spending time outside after school to get some of the pinned up energy out especially on days that feel like fall weather. Right now most of our outside time is spent in the front yard as we are having a backyard being built. It is fun when neighbors stop to talk and act like kids with us. Blessed to have sweet neighbors!

Our neighbors stopped by on their way home to swing with the kids

The girls are loving the lego builds! We go monthly on the first Wednesday of the month. Of course, after the build they like to go shopping and grab dinner at the mall too. We don’t always buy the items they try on but we get great ideas for birthday gifts and enjoy sweet time together.

Mommy took the girls to the galleria for a lego build while daddy went to a work dinner. Of course, they ended up shopping too and Leia gave us a couple ideas for birthday presents.

Lunch with the girlies is a treat. Ivy and Leia often ask on the way to school if mommy is working and if not if there is anyway that mommy can do lunch with them. Lisa tries to do it once a week since she knows they will not always want her to come to school but realistically knows we may not be able too every week. It is so fun to see their faces light up when she is able to sneak away and join them for a special lunch.

Thursday, Lisa had to do some training but snuck away to enjoy lunch with the girls. So thankful for these sweet moments!

The weekend went super fast! Like most weekends do. Friday night the girls went to a neighbor’s birthday party while Lisa and Chris for to go on a nice date night. Saturday, Chris took the girlies on a date to the movies while Lisa cleaned the house and cooked for the ball game that evening since we invited people over for the AL game. Sunday, church was cancelled with Hurricane Nate predicted to come up from the coast through our area. Thankfully we just had rain and a few wind gusts that moved out that afternoon. It did give us a lazy family morning at the house though where we played candy land and jinga. The Rhoads lost power in the storm so they ended up coming over at lunch then we rode out to visit Mimi for a little bit before coming back home for a family date night. That evening the Rhoads spent the night since they still were without power and their house was a little warmer than the cool sleeping weather we all like.

Saturday was full of playing games with the girls in the morning and enjoy sweet time with family and friends in the evening while we cheered on the Tide

Our sweet neighbor’s birthday was Saturday so we got a cookie cake to celebrate her special day with her at the football gathering

Sunday we went out to Mimi’s house to visit but stopped by Lowes for Stacy to get some stuff for their remodel. Ivy found the Christmas decoration she wanted, it’s big!

Sweet mimi brought the girls the best long nails they could get. Sunday evening we pulled Ivy’s top tooth for the tooth fairy to come

Fun times when the power is out at the Rhoads house … we get to have a spend the night party with the whole family.

They are so precious, and sweet!

So thankful Monday was a day out of school! Sad daddy had to go on a business trip but his girls got to have a fun filled day. We had a big family style breakfast since the Rhoads had spent the night then the girls played while Stacy and Mark went back to their house to clean a little bit. At 11 Mark came back to get Leia, Sara, and Katie to go ice skating. Ivy still is not a fan so mommy took her to Surge so we could jump on the trampolines. After our time was up and ice skating was done we all met at the mall for lunch and browsed until it was time for the Comfort girls to go to piano practice. The girls had long days so after that we headed home for baths and dinner before a much needed early bedtime.

The tooth fairy brought $5 for the top front tooth. Thankful for Leia’s great example sharing with Ivy. Ivy is following suit and shares with her sister too

Our awesome uncle Mark let Leia go skating with them since she loves it but Ivy not so much. Thank you Uncle Mark!

Mark loves his girls and nieces so much! We are blessed to get to call him family and friend. Leia had a blast with you!

While Leia was with uncle Mark, Ivy was with mommy at the trampoline park. Of course mommy acted like a kid too.

This is the good angle for cart wheels!

Sweet Ivy was a little timid to do this but said she would with mommy so away we went

Tuesday after a three day weekend can be hard to get up and moving. It proved to be the case this week. On the way to school the girlies asked mommy to have lunch so Lisa spent most of the day at the school between parent-teacher conferences and separate lunch times for the girls. So thankful to be part-time so I can do have lunch often with our girlies and help out at their school.

Sweet Tuesday morning snuggles. When Daddy travels the girls come hope in mommy bed and sleep in Chris’s spot. Love these special moments in motherhood. No picture of sweet Ivy since mommy woke her trying to get her picture but she was snuggled up even closer, like her head, arm and leg was on top of mommy.

Love these lunch dates!
Ivy and Ivy was super excited to get to eat together

Ivy’s birthday present from Deedee and Grandpa arrived in the mail. She loves it and found her cute for Halloween this year 🙂

Daddy got a father daughter date while mommy went to the plant Wednesday night. Mommy loved get a text to see these sweet smiles. It was even better getting home Thursday and hearing the girlies excitement that mommy was home.

Love getting to face time while traveling

These plants are amazing

Thursday when mommy got home the whole family went to our neighborhood gathering for the girls to trick or treat at Star Lake. Mommy neglected to get a group shot since we were a little later arriving than most of our friends and they’d gotten group shots when arriving before the kids went every direction but the girls had a great time

Friday night family date nights are the best! There are very few pictures since phones are not out much but we did get a couple. The girls chose their dinner spot, Texas de Brazil then we went shopping for Ivy Bailey’s birthday and the girls got to pick out a couple surprises at Claire’s since they did awesome on their report cards.

These two are awesome!

Saturday was a FUN day! We got to chill out at home then go to Ivy Bailey’s 6th birthday party at Chuck-e-cheese. It was great! They each got a all you can play card for 2 hours. Leia took off and played with Ava most of the time. Mommy hing out with Ivy unless she was playing with Ivy Bailey but Ivy Bailey had to make her rounds to visit everyone since she was the guest of honor. Ivy racked up some tickets! She got 1,200 tickets. Afterwards, Mimi took her 4 girls halloween shopping. They love trying on costumes. Mommy was not expecting Ivy to get one since she has Uma but she did not want to be left out. We will have a donut and milkshake, if their wear their costumes they got with Mimi. The kiddos all headed to Mimi’s afterwards while Lisa went to pick up Chris who had been working on DIY project at home. He installed a plug for a media closet; he’s been holding off on what he can do, there maybe a honey do list for him soon. We headed to Mimi’s that evening for dinner and to cheer on the Tide against Arkansas that evening. Full, busy, and fun day for all of us.

Love our BFFS

Mimi and the grand-girls costume shopping

Mommy hung out with Ivy since we got to the Halloween store a little late since she stayed to the very end of Ivy’s party. She loved the masks at the store and tried on as many as she could!

The cleopatra costume was itchy but the milk shake was fun

One of the best parts of Saturday was the evening! Love, love, love sitting down and my little ones running to me and jumping in my lap to snuggle and watch TV, talk or whatever they want to do! I have to remind myself to be still and treasure the time … it is going fast.

Sunday, the whole family went to Shades to see Sara sing with the children choir. Most of the family left early to go to Katie’s soccer game except the Comfort clan.  Chris had to head to Atlanta for work early afternoon so we came home to clean up the house before daddy left for a few days. Cousin Sara decided to come over during Katie’s second game to play since she said it’d been a long day at the soccer fields. The girlies decided to have a lemonade stand that afternoon. They made about $10 and were thrilled. Of course that evening since daddy was gone our girlies got to sleep in his spot.

Sara did a great job in choir today

Leia is a lot like Chris but she has her momma in her too. Mommy has to laugh as she vocalizes her dislike of football and opts to watch anything but football during the fall just like her momma when she was her age.

Our little entrepreneurs

While daddy is away the girls pile in the bed with mommy 🙂

Monday, Sweet Leia’s teacher emailed us a picture of her painting her rocks in class and told us what a joy Leia is in her class. They have been studying formations.

Sweet Ivy came home from school with one less tooth than what she went to school with this morning. We are having to write a letter to the tooth fairy since she has no idea when she lost her tooth.
