Memorial Day Weekend 2017

Saturday, we spent most of the day at home cleaning and hanging out while we waited on Grandpa and Deedee to arrive. The girls were super excited since they had not saw them in a few weeks. That evening Lisa and Chris went on a date night while the girls had a their time with just them and Grandpa and Deedee. Thankful for the time to reconnect and that the girls were able to have some special time just them with Grandpa and Deedee.

Whole reason we do the blog! Love watching them look at the books and remember the fun times and memories

Deedee and Grandpa arrived late on Saturday afternoon. The girls were excited to have a date with them while Lisa and Chris went on a date night.

Sunday, Leia said we should get donuts since it is tradition to get them one day when Grandpa and Deedee are visiting so that is what we did for breakfast. That morning we played at the house then the girls all went shopping to buy flowers, a special treat (DC Super Hero dolls), and baking stuff for a day of fun while Grandpa and Daddy went golfing. The girls spent most of the day at the house planting flowers, having a picnic lunch in the front yard, baking, and playing. That afternoon Deedee and Lisa took Leia and Ivy to Sky Zone for a little fun. The boys met us back at home then Grandpa and Deedee took us to dinner at Firebirds for a nice dinner.

The girls baked Memorial Day treats for Memorial Day with Deedee. The best part was eating the batter.

Fun at Sky Zone. Lisa ended up joining Leia and Ivy on the trampolines for the last 30 minutes since Leia asked her too. Love getting to play with the girlies!
Thank you Deedee for taking the girls!

Lisa had great helpers pumping gas on the way home from dinner

Daddy and Grandpa needed a nap after a fun day golfing and yummy dinner

Sunday night we played ‘where is Ivy in bed,’ when Lisa went to check on them.

Monday was Memorial Day, a day when we remember the gold star families of service men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice defending our great country and our freedoms. We pray comfort and peace over the families that have lost loved ones serving our country. Thankful we were able to spend this day with family creating memories that will last a lifetime for each one of us.

Memorial Day at Mimi’s

The dad’s swam with the kids since the water was too cold for the momma’s and grandparents

Sweet Leia decided to do make Mimi a sweet sign and recruited cousin Sara to help. Love to see her sweet heart in action

Triple the fun jumping together

Deedee and Lisa were outside that evening while Ivy was watering the plants and spotted a lightening bug so we started trying to catch one. We were excited to see how many there were in the yard and can see this being a fun evening activity. Thankfully Lisa caught two lightening bug so each of the girls had one so they were both excited.

Of course the girls released them before we went in for the evening to join their friends, family, and freedom
