A state of emergency was called for predicted storms so both girls schools were cancelled. There were suppose to be two bands coming with a high possibility of high winds, hail and tornados. We were fortunate at our house and only got rain and winds mixed in with nice sunny skies between the two bands. Chris took the day off with the girlies but Lisa went in to work for training but was sent home at lunch time since the second band was suppose to be worse than the first. Chris and the girls got up out of bed not long after Lisa left to go get breakfast at Waffle House then they came back to the house to weather the storms and play. Lisa grabbed lunch on the way home thankful to have or little family together for the second wave of storms. The Rhoads’ came over to hang out and play with us too in case we all needed to camp out in the basement for a little bit. God heard our prayers and it was calmer than expected at our house. In fact, the storm prediction blessed us with a day out of school and let us have fun times and dinner with the Rhoads’ at our home.

Thursday, after the weather day out of school Leia had a field trip to Ruffner Mountain. Lisa was able to go on the trip too and join in on the hike. The rain had brought in a lot cooler weather though and we had to move around to keep warm. Thankful we had extra jackets in the car for our friends. It was a nice day with school friends away from school enjoying nature and God’s little creatures.
Deedee and Grandpa came to visit us over the weekend. They arrived midday then Lisa got Ivy from school and we all went to the park before picking up Leia from school. We enjoyed a nice dinner in Friday night, got to do a little sewing, and enjoyed sweet time together. Saturday, the girls woke ready to sew some more so we were back in the craft room. The boys (Chris, Grandpa, and Mark) took the four girlies (Leia, Ivy, Sara, and Katie) to Urban Air for a couple hours of fun. Lisa and Deedee stayed home and monogrammed towels. After we got finished and the boys got home we headed to Mimi’s to grill out with the family and play there a little while. On the way home we stopped by JoAnn’s for the girls to pick out fabric for skirts and dresses. Sunday morning, Grandpa asked about going out but the girls wanted to stay in again since they were back in the craft room and Deedee was sewing Ivy’s shopkin dress so the guys picked up breakfast and we enjoyed eating in again then the girls got to snuggle watching cartoons before Grandpa and Deedee headed home. Glad they got to come visit. We sure did enjoy it!
After school treats are always a hit

We ventured into the craft room with Deedee. When Grandpa came in he ended up getting stuffed like a pillow

The girls LOVE craft time with Deedee! They made pillows. We went to the store and the girls picked out fabric for outfits. Deedee got Ivy’s shopkin dress completed before they left.
Yummy dinner Friday night then the girls hosted a dance party for everyone

Breakfast fun with Grandpa and Deedee
Ivy was still in the craft room after Deedee left sewing away. She loves it!

Our sweet girls entertaining us Sunday afternoon
Daddy was out of town all week so Mimi came to help Thursday since Lisa had a massage appointment that she did not want to cancel. Thanks Mimi!
Fun with Mimi while mommy went to get pampered

Friday, Lisa kept Katie since she had strep throat and Ivy since school was closed for good Friday. Mimi came to chill with us but since the little sisters were just playing we decided to check Sara and Leia out for a afternoon to start our family fun weekend. First stop was Steak and Shake before heading out to Mimi’s house. We played outside, the girls talked Mimi into letting them do water balloons which turned into playing with the hose pipe, Sara and Katie outlasted Leia and Ivy in the water. After dinner we headed to the girls first shaved ice of the year since Mimi told them they could have one. On the way home we stopped to get a redbox movie for our spend the night party. Saturday morning, Mimi and Lisa enjoyed sweet snuggles before breakfast. After we ate the girls had energy to get outside and run around. The Comfort girls headed home to meet Chris who had flown all night to get home at 11. He got to have lunch and watch a show then exhaustion set in so he napped while Lisa worked in the yard and the girls played with the neighbors. Late afternoon we woke daddy to go back out to Mimi’s for a family cookout and a little fun dying Easter eggs. What a great couple days!
Friday morning…they were excited not to go to school

Lunch outing after we got all 4 girlies

Sweet Ivy was surprised with her welcome gift to VHEW since she is starting kindergarten next year. Can not believe our baby girl is going to big girl school next year

Saturday morning snuggles … one of my favorite times

Saturday morning playtime with little monkeys before we headed home to get daddy who flew all night to get home to us

we went back over to Mimi’s late that afternoon for our annual Easter egg dying fun. Aunt Stacy brought gloves this year so everyone did not go to church with colorful hands

Mimi gave the girlies their Easter basket too since Sunday is normally rushed

There is a lot of love in this picture

One of our favorite holidays is Easter! We know because Jesus is no longer in the tomb we get to spend eternity in Heaven with him and family that believes in His resurrection. So thankful for the resurrection power! We pray that all our friends and family knows Jesus and will get to spend eternity with Him as well. Thank you Lord for Your mercy and goodness, for loving us so much you stayed on the cross so we can spend eternity with You!
Blessed to spend Easter morning together

We went to church with Sara and Katie
Family fun at Mimi’s. Thankful to get to spend some time with this crew. Missed our family not here with us and so thankful for Easter celebration and the promise it holds for each of us

There are some strong, resilient, faithful women in this picture! Blessed to call each of them family and friend.

The kids were ready for the hunt! Mimi stuffed almost 200 eggs for these wild ones to hunt

Everyone found plenty and got a special golden egg Mimi hid

Daddy tried sneaking eggs from Leia’s basket but he was not quick enough
Love, love, love
Our little divas always make us smile. They add so much joy to our little family!

The girls got to open one last Easter surprise from Deedee … the outfits she made them with the fabric they chose…we got Saturday’s mail Sunday evening. They were a little excited

Random wacky Wednesday turned out to have a little fun twist. Leia’s back has started hurting again so we got her an appointment with the chriopractor and aunt Stacy had a massage appointment so Lisa ended up taking all 4 little monkeys. Traffic had been bad so we headed over to make sure we had enough time to get there but there was no traffic going that way. We ended up there almost 40 minutes early. Thankfully, Treetop adventure was across the street so we all went there for a little play time before the appointment. Dr Sloan adjusted Leia, gave us therapy to do at home, and tape Leia up then sent us on our way.
Thankful Mimi came to help Lisa put out new edging and pine bark to fix up our yard a little. We only got half of the front yard finished today but are working to come up with a good plan for the whole yard. So thankful for help getting the edging and pine-bark out!
We went to celebrate Adrian’s birthday and visit Deedee and Grandpa over the weekend. Friday Chris got off a little early then checked Leia out on his way home. Lisa and Ivy had the car pack so we headed out. We arrived in Newnan a little before 5 and the girls headed straight up to start playing and started asking when Adrian and Alicia would arrive. They got there about 6 o’clock then Chris started grilling while Grandpa and Adrian played basketball and the girls played house. We had a fun family birthday celebration after dinner then the guys and kids played a little soccer before they headed home. The girls were still excited so bounced around and chatted until well after their bedtime.
Girls kicked the ball after Adrian and Alicia left for a few minutes
Even though they were up super late they were up early playing. Chris and Gene went to play golf while the girls played at the house, explored houses under construction, and met Alicia at Bubbles and Brushes to get their creative juices flowing. After the girlies finished their paintings Adrian and Diego at Chickfila for lunch. By the time we got back to Grandpa and Deedee’s sweet Ivy was exhausted. Leia went to paint with Deedee while Lisa made Ivy lay down for a little bit. After much screaming not wanting to rest she gave in and fell asleep snuggling with Lisa. Leia came up after a little while and rested with us too before it was time to head to Adrian and Alicia’s for Adrian’s birthday party. We enjoyed dinner then went to Air Jump for a little bouncing fun. The girls were not ready for bed again when we got back to Deedee and Grandpa’s so they had a little movie snuggle time after baths then headed to bed.
Morning crafting and fun with mommy and Deedee

Sweet snuggle time before night night with Deedee

Sunday, we woke up and the girls were ready to play again. They love getting to play at Grandpa and Deedee’s! We all enjoyed a yummy breakfast then let the girls run around the house playing to use up a little energy before we got back on the road to head home. Leia and Chris had a afternoon at home while Ivy went to Mia’s birthday party at pump it up. She loved getting to see her friends and play! It made leaving Newnan a little better although she still said she should had liked to stay and play longer.
Sweet friends birthday party Sunday afternoon
Mimi and Mr Al came back to help finish putting out the edging and throwing bark on the rest of the front yard the following week. We are blessed that they are willing to come help Lisa and Ivy get it done so our yard looks prettier and Lisa is happier with it 😉
Ivy had her last field trip with GHK Thursday, April 26th. She has such a sweet class that will be scattering to different schools next year. Wish we had a couple of them going to VHEW with us but we sadly do not. We enjoyed the last field trip though! She went to Sanpeggio’s Pizza to learn how to make pizza. Each child got to make their own personal sized pizza with their pick of toppings then take the leftovers home. Ivy asked if London could come play when we headed back to school. It turned out her sister had a doctor appointment that afternoon so she hung out and played till 4:30ish. Both Ivy and London wanted sweet Leia to get home to play with them. It is a blessing having friends that like everyone to play together and include your sister too.
Morning fun at the park next to Leia’s school. So thankful to have a few extra minutes to hear their laughter

Yummy field trip to make pizzas
Fun with friends at our house before big sister got home

Entertaining themselves while waiting to pick up big sister

Leia’s finally home to play and have our treat picnic
Thursday Mimi helped Lisa in the yard again to finish the last little section in the front yard. Thankful for her and always being willing to help us! I pray I am able to help my girls like she does us. After we finished and picked up Ivy for a afternoon of shopping. Of course she gave Ivy piggyback rides in and out of store to make it fun. Lisa took Leia that afternoon too and shared her buy, a mermaid tale with her little sister.

We love Fridays that daddy is off too! The last Friday of the month Chris was off and sweet Ivy had her Kindergarten tour of VHEW. Lisa took Ivy for the tour and for to see all the ins and outs of the schools that we did not see since Leia did not start there. It took about a hour then we headed home to hang out with daddy. Ivy had a special day with mommy and daddy! We went to lunch and hiking near our house. After Lisa picked up Leia from school sweet Leia helped clean the car before we headed home to start our fun weekend and enjoy playing in the water with the warmer weather. We finished the evening with a family dinner and watching Katie’s soccer game. Fun Friday!

Leia had crazy day at school so we did her hair just like she wanted. Daddy said it was all down before they got to school but it was her choice
Sweet Ivy got to go tour the school before she starts K5 next year
Our tour guide was the school principal, Mrs Houser

After the tour we took a little hike near the house. We have to take Leia back
Sweet Leia helped mommy clean the car after school. So thankful they help with happy hearts

Water fun at home. We should had put it closer to the new plants and water them while they were playing

Saturday, our little prima ballerina had her recital. We are so proud of Ivy for her amazing ballet performance. All of the ballerinas did a wonderful job!! A special thanks to Laura Scherf Bell for teaching and guiding these girls both physically and spiritually. Thank you to Ivy’s family who came to support her 🙂
Waiting on friends to arrive. We got there early so we could get good seats

Ivy and her sweet dance teacher, Mrs Laura. Thankful Ivy has been able to dance with her for two years.

So thankful for our baby girl.

Treat time after her recital at Mimi’s … notice healthy eater Katie wasn’t pictured

First swim of the year in Birmingham. Ivy went to Morgan’s house. She was a little sad not being with Leia since Leia went to Sara and Katie’s and ended up swimming too but they had a blast in the new seesaw they bought

Sunday morning, there is a whole coach and two other chairs in the den but they share the same seat. Love these two and how much they love each other and being together.

Wow you have had a busy month!! Loved all the pictures and k ow you had a wonderful and busy April. Love, Aunt Joy
