Thanksgiving in Gatlinburg

Princess Leia joined Chris’s family tradition of spending Thanksgiving in Gatlinburg. Last year Chris and Lisa missed it waiting on Leia’s arrival but this year they were excited to get back and join in on the fun times. This year was a smaller group after last years big wedding shindig but it was a wonderful time to start sharing the tradition with Leia and starting new ones with the next generation.

Leia did great on the ride up! But boy was that a long ride. We were the last to arrive in the Comfot Chalet on Saturday. Soon after our arrival we joined the rest of the family for a welcome dinner to say hello but headed back to our chalet early to try to get Leia down for the night. Leia had other plans and struggled sleeping through out the week and attempted to keep everyone else in the chalet from sleeping as well.

The week was full of shopping, food, and family traditions. One new event added to the fun times was DeeDee’s Tea Party while the guys went golfing. Not only did the kids enjoy the party but the moms, aunts, and grandmothers all had just as much fun as the little ones. Hopefully this is something that will be added to the tradition. Chris, Lisa, and Leia had to head home right after the main event, Thanksgiving dinner to finish packing, move out of their first home they shared, and continue hunting for their next home.
