Grandpa and Deedee came in town Thursday and took us to dinner. Friday, Chris and Gene went and played 36 holes with a few guys from Chris’s office while Deedee and Lisa played with the girls. We played at the house until close to lunch then picked up Zoe’s to take it to momma’s for lunch and a little time in the pool. Leia and Ivy had been asking to swim for days so we were surprised that they did not stay in the pool that long but they enjoyed the time there and swimming with their cousins Sara and Katie. That evening Deedee took us to Steak-n-Shake then we came back home for bed time as the guys got home so the girls got a few extra minutes.

Saturday, Deedee and Grandpa took the girls to the park and to buy fireworks before they headed home a couple days. Lisa had been running crazy so Chris suggested she take the girls on a date while he cleaned out some of the garage. His plan was one of the best ones all three of his girls heard in a while. We took him up on his offer and the girls planned our day. We started the morning playing games at the house before Leia decided we should go shopping. The girls took some of their money to go to Five Below. We spent over an hour for them to pick out one thing. By then it was lunch time. The girls decided to go to Chickfila. Afterwards, we started to go to Let’s Play but it was packed so the girls asked about Chuck-e-Cheese which wasn’t much better so then we headed to McWane. Thankfully, McWane did not seem to be that busy. Aunt Stacy texted and asked us if we wanted to go swim with Sara and Katie that afternoon so we went there to grille our burgers and swim. By the time we got home we were all ready to crash.

Sunday, we spent the morning baking. The girls decided to make homemade cookies, an American flag cake, and brownies. We created quite a mess but had a blast and ended up with yummy treats for the celebration up at church that evening and our 4th of July festivities. The rest of the day we spent some fun family time together. That afternoon we went to one of the girls favorite events at church. They had fun sliding down the water slide, jumping in bouncy houses, and watching fireworks with friends. It was a late night but so fun.

Monday, the 4th of July we celebrated American’s freedom. Deedee and Grandpa came back in town and we all went to Mimi’s for lunch and pool time. We had 22 people there and it was the first year that Mimi had to give up some of the reins to let others help and do some of the cooking. Lunch was yummy and the fellowship was great! So thankful for the men and women who fought for our freedom and defend it today. Sweet Leia wanted to celebrate with her neighbors so she hosted a party and invited them and her cousins to play in sprinklers, snacks and fireworks. Grandpa shot the fireworks he had gotten then Drake shot some that he brought. The show was fabulous! Better than thunder on the mountain. After everyone left we brought the party inside and had a dance party with the girls. Thankfully, Grandpa and Deedee offered to take the girls to daycare the next day so they could sleep in since they did not get in bed until ten o’clock.
