Chris had a business trip to Amelia Island in Florida so we asked Leia if she wanted on last hoo-rah before it began and she said she wanted to go to the beach even though we would be getting back the day before school started. We drove down Saturday morning since Friday Leia got to meet her teacher. The girls were excited to get there and we stayed on the property for dinner and played in the pool to get energy out from the long drive. The next day Chris got to hang out with us until that afternoon. We played in the pool mostly but then the girls wanted to go to the beach. In a twist, Leia loved the beach and Ivy wanted to go back to the pool the whole time. We hung out for about an hour and a half before Ivy got her way. Lisa and the girls went to dinner while daddy was in meetings to a fun restaurant with a park then got ice-cream before heading back for R&R in the room. Monday, the girls spent most of the day by the pool, got to meet new friends and play, and build a turtle by the pool (similar to build-a-bear); we never made it back to the beach but had enough of the sun so headed back to the room. Leia requested we head home that evening so daddy and mommy drove into the wee morning hours so Leia would have a “home day” before school started in a couple days.

Next morning we snuggled, relaxed, and got to have breakfast with daddy

Most of the girls time was spent at the pool

We missed cousin Ivy’s build a bear birthday so we stuffed a turtle by the pool

But we did make it to the ocean once. Leia loved the ocean! Ivy liked it for a few minutes then was done. Best purchase we’ve made fore the beach is our shade shack 🙂
