Leia

Sara is seven

It’s been seven years since sweet Sara joined our family. It has flew by so quick. She spent a whole weekend celebrating.

Friday, Sara had a few of her friends from school, sister, Ivy and Leia over for a ice-cream sundea party.  Each of the girls got to chose the toppings they wanted on their ice-cream then went outside to run off the sugar. Miss Leia was a little shy and did not want to to interact with Sara’s friends so she stayed in making Sara a birthday card then left early with Mimi for a special one-on-one night with Mimi. Ivy on the other hand was having fun celebrating and liked being in the center of everything, Mommy dragged her out before they started the movie to go home for a special night with mommy and daddy. It was fun seeing her interact with school friends and celebrating with our big cousin and her friends.

Ivy and mommy ran by Winn Dixie on the way home to pick up supplies for Sara’s family birthday the next day. Ivy was talking to everyone in the store. That may had been the first time she every went to the store by herself with mommy. Another first occurred for Ivy too, she had one on two with mommy and daddy since Leia chose to go spend the night with Mimi by herself. Ivy did not know what to do with both our undivided attention. She got to pick where we went to dinner, then asked to go to Chuck-e-cheese (daddy’s first time), and ran by the store with momma before we came home to watch a show and she got to sleep in mommy and daddy’s bed. Both girls did great on their special nights of undivided attention but by the time breakfast was over Ivy was ready to see her big sister so we had to FaceTime Mimi and Leia. Mimi came to the house shortly thereafter and sweet Leia brought Ivy a surprise she got her while she was on her date with Mimi. Leia has a heart of gold.

Saturday, we had a real birthday celebration complete with the guest of honor, Sara and her family, Mimi, Grandpa, Deedee, Mimi Rhoads, Poppy, Jeff and Michelle, cousins Abbey and Ashley at our house. It was Sara’s request to have her family birthday here, order pizza, have doughnuts instead of birthday cake, and play – so that is what we did. It was great getting to celebrate Sara’s big day with both sides of her family. It is hard to believe that she is seven. So sweet watching her grow but I sure wish time would slow down so we had a little longer to enjoy it, going way to quick. Hope you enjoyed your big day Sara; we love you.
