Both mommy and daddy’s birthdays are in March. Our girls are enjoying the month since the associate birthday’s with special yummy treats. Mommy’s birthday fell on a Monday this year which also is a work day so we had a family celebration on Sunday with Mimi, Deedee, Grandpa, aunt Stacy, uncle Mark, Sara and Katie. Chris let Lisa open presents Sunday morning before we went to Bonefish grill for a yummy lunch then to the Rhoad’s house for Deedee’s brownies and ice-cream. Leia was a little sad that she was not going to get to spend the whole day with mommy on her ‘real birthday’ so we baked St Patrick Day cupcakes for her and Ivy to celebrate with their friends while mommy had to go to work. It was the first time in a while that Lisa has worked on her birthday but since she does not have many vacation days this year she did not want to use one. The day was great though! Sweet Mimi sent flowers to the office for a little birthday pick me up at work. Chris took Lisa to lunch to celebrate for a fun break. Then it was quitting time and the girls gave mommy the biggest smiles, hugs, and kisses when she went to pick them up. Chris had to leave to go out of town that afternoon so Mimi got off ‘early’ (it is still tax season so 4 pm is really early during this time of year) to come hang out for the evening. She took Lisa and the girls to dinner then we had brown/cupcakes and ice-cream to celebrate that evening. Lisa had saved a couple presents to stretch the surprises out that evening too. The evening turned out to be a relaxing girls night. So blessed to have family to spend special days with and grateful to have friends/family that took time to send birthday greetings. Thank you to everyone who called, sent text messages, messages via facebook, emailed, mailed snail mail (aka cards), and took time out of your day to come celebrate; you brightened my birthday and made me feel very special.
