<\/p>\nGene\u2019s annual golf tournament was moved to the fall this year instead during the middle of the summer. The weather was much nicer for it! After looking at vacation time the girls and Lisa decided they should tag along with Chris. After all, why should he have all the fun? Plus, he had to travel the following week and we did not want to miss him two weeks in a row. The girls were excited! They had not gotten to see their grandpa and Deedee in a little over a month and we told Leia she may finally get to see daddy play golf (something she told us she wanted to do).Our girls maybe like their daddy and dislike road trips, Leia reminded us frequently while riding that, \u201cGrandpa and Deedee need to move their house closer, they live too far away\u201d. Love the logic of a 2 \u00bd year old and how things revolve around their little world.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, was a fabulous morning! The guys tee time was not until the afternoon so there were no alarms set, nowhere to be early in the morning, just a morning to relax and enjoy with family. It was great! Everyone got ready mid morning so the ladies could head to the fire station to pick out a pumpkin and let the girls \u2018drive\u2019 the fire truck and the boys to the golf course. Unfortunately the fire truck was out while we were there at lunch and on a call so we had to go back Friday but Leia and Ivy both picked out pretty pumpkins and Deedee treated us to our favorite lunch spot, Chickfila. After rest time the ladies headed to aunt Kelly and uncle Diego\u2019s house to play with cousins Adrian and Alicia. It had been way too long since they had gotten together. They have such a fun time together! Love watching them interact (unfortunately I neglected to pull the camera out).<\/p>\n

Thursday, the boys had to be at the golf course early and Deedee had to work so Lisa and the little ones had most of the day to herself. They spent most of it at the park running around, swinging, and sliding until the girls were so tired they could hardly keep their eyes open in the swing. Leia and Ivy were happy to see Deedee when they woke from nap time though. Leia has been talking about going to watch daddy and grandpa play ball since we told her they were playing golf (I think she thought it was like the softball field where there is a park she plays on and watches). That afternoon was \u2018off the wall\u2019 so she got to see them swing the clubs a couple times. Grandpa did great! He came in third place. Leia and Ivy entertained us playing on the hill between hits (what did we do before these balls of energy came into our life, it had to be a little more dull than it is now). Afterwards, we all headed back to the house for dinner and a little play time before night-night<\/p>\n
Fun at the Park<\/p>\n
Off the Wall We love Friday fun days! The boys had an early tee time again but Deedee got to play with us all day. We woke up leisurely then played at the house. Deedee had to make brownies; Leia and Ivy assisted her since they are awesome helpers. We had to make sure we made it by the fire station so the girls could \u2018drive\u2019 the truck as promised so that was our first stop. Ivy LOVES driving! She throws a mini fit when you take her out of the driver\u2019s seat. Next up was the park, one of the girls\u2019 favorite places. It was easier with two adults and two kiddos, allowing one on one time for the girls and them to separate a little (not that they venture too far from one another for long \u2013 big sister Leia has to watch out for little sis while little sis tries to do everything big sis does).<\/p>\n Helping DeeDee make brownies<\/p>\n Ivy studies what Leia does … monkey see, monkey do<\/p>\n Fun at the fire-station Fun at the park After lunch and naps, cousins Adrian and Alicia showed up for Friday fun night. Leia had saved her pumpkin to paint with Adrian all week. Looking back at the pictures, I cannot remember if the excitement was about painting or just getting to see each other. Deedee got everything ready though while they were excitedly hopping around for them to decorate the pumpkin. Our little artist decorated the pumpkin all by themselves except when they recruited Deedee to help paint the face. It turned out beautifully; they have great creativity in their genes. The little sisters played independently while he big ones were painting except when Ivy investigated what sister was up too (like we said they always want to know what the other one is doing). After the paint party ended everyone got to play dress up before dinner. Deedee has boy and girl dress up stuff. Princess Leia had refused to play dress up at Adrian\u2019s house on Wednesday because he did not have \u201cgirl dress up stuff\u201d (this shocked mommy since we have to play dress up at least once a day at our house). Even aunt Kelly got in on the dress up fun J. Love the fall weather we had this visit so we could eat outside before heading back down to the basement for a little more play time. Deedee had finished making Adrian, Alicia, and Ivy\u2019s Halloween costumes not long before we arrived so there was a little more dress up fun trying them on to make sure they fit (Leia will be princess Belle that Deedee made her previously). While cousins Adrian and Alicia were trying on their costumes, Ivy found it very entertaining to go through, under, and\/or around Deedee\u2019s desk in her craft room which became one of her favorite things to do in the basement from that point on the rest of our visit. She is lucky she is a little-bit cause if she was any taller when she stood there would had been some head bumping. The night seemed to slip by quickly because before we knew it, it was past the kids bed times and the fun night ended.<\/p>\n Excited to paint or see each other Pumpkin Painting Ivy and Alicia while the big ones painted Dress up and play before dinner Play after a yummy dinner We are all blessed to have such a talented Deedee that takes time to make our princesses and prince adorable clothes and incredible dress-up clothes! Thank you again Deedee!! Saturday, was the one morning during our visit that we planned a set time to be out of the house. The ladies were heading to the pumpkin patch to meet Aunt Kelly, cousins Adrian and Alicia. We arrived right when it opened since we all thought it may be packed on a weekend. To our surprise, it was a light crowd. Of course our first stop was for photo ops figuring it\u2019d be the best time for the kiddos to corporate. However, Leia and Ivy were more interested in the popcorn in the stroller than smiling for the camera. A few pictures later the kids were getting a little antsy so we ventured into the corn field maze for a little fun and to burn some energy. Between Kelly, Deedee, and Lisa\u2019s sense of direction we went in circles a few times in the maze but managed to find our way out eventually. Kelly got her arm workout too pushing their double stroller. It was comical that our baby girl, Ivy wanted out of the stroller (she is a sweet cuddly, arm baby) while big sister Leia seemed to be waiting on a vacant seat, hoping in as soon as mommy got Ivy. Adrian was a trooper and enjoyed picking ears of corn while we wandered through the maze. When we exited the petting farm was only a few steps away so we stopped by while Alicia napped. Leia surprised mom by not climbing up to get away from the animals and even touched a sheep (very quickly before running from it). Normally, she elects to skip petting farms but this time she must had not wanted Adrian to show her up. (Let\u2019s clarify, she is okay with them especially if her daddy coerces her to go to them as long as mommy or daddy is holding her in a petting farm – or around animals period – but she has been known to climb up you if a animal comes towards her unless it is her dog-dog Sierra). After a quick hand wash Deedee took the big ones to explore a little since Alicia was sleeping while Ivy, Kelly and Lisa colored and walked around a bench. Deedee found the kids an air gun to shot at pumpkins, an old car, and washer. Adrian and Leia took turns shooting. Although, there was little aiming going on after they decided it was more fun to see how far or how high the lemon\/lime could go. After they finished shooting we hoped on the hay ride since everyone was awake and ready to play. We had cheerios with us and a nice gentleman shared his peanuts before we got to our stopping point but it was clear that we needed to be getting lunch soon by our girls\u2019 reactions. We went to lunch at Moe\u2019s (I am sure it was a welcome break from Chrickfila for Deedee since we\u2019d already picked that twice this week). Ivy was acting sleepy so we headed back to Deedee and Grandpa\u2019s for rest time. Mommy thought it would be nice for Leia not to rest until we headed home so she and Deedee played in the basement while mommy got everything in the car. Mommy did not expect that Ivy would not go to sleep either. She played and played in her crib until mommy finally got her to take her down to play with Deedee and sissy.
