It is hard to believe that this is Leia’s last year in elementary school. Next year our girls will be in separate schools. For today though we focus on what we are thankful for today; we are thankful that there was only one drop off and and two smart, young ladies headed into their school. Nothing this year has been normal and that includes the first day of the school, except that the morning hustle to get out the door was hectic and chaotic. Even though we thought we had prepared last night by packing the school bag, lunches, picking up Panera Bread for a quicker breakfast, etc … school mornings can be rough to get out the door, especially when wee have not done it in a half a year; we were all out of practice. As we pulled up to the school both girls were excited to get to attend school in person and left the car with smiles. <\/p>\n

At pickup they both got out of the van claiming they had the best day. The masks they wore did not bother them or social distance they had to maintain at school. Ivy was disappointed she did not get to see Leia throughout the day at all this year since they have overlapped somewhere and able to say hi to each other throughout the day; other than that disappointment there was only positive reviews of the first day. We went to their favorite treat place after pick up to talk about their day. As we sat listening and watching them, I could not help but think how amazing, resilient, and adaptable their generation has the opportunity to be with how they faced the challenges this year has brought if they continue to grow and adapt too changes like they have these past few months. This is going to be a great year!<\/p>\n

Normally we try to do a family breakfast the first day but hey this is not a normal year so the girls ate by themselves as mommy tried un-freezing bottles and finishing getting Ivy’s show and tell in her bag. Thankful for picking up Panera Bread bagels the night before; wishing mommy would have been more on it to fix the sausage, bacon, and eggs to go with them that was planned. Oh well, they seemed happy; thankful for their joyful spirit

\nThey looked cute on the first day! They have missed seeing friends at school thankful they are getting to go back this year. 
\n\"\" <\/a>\"\"<\/a>
\nPhone camera struggling to communicate with apple watch but we managed a selfie; thankful to share this time with them
\n\"\"<\/a>
\nA sweet neighbor stopped on her way to work and offered to snap a few pictures with momma too; thankful for sweet neighbors
\n\"\" <\/a>\"\"<\/a>
\nWe filled out their boards the night before and almost left them out of the photo op; thankful Leia remembered as we needed to be leaving but snapped a quick picture instead
\n\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>
\nDaddy said he had work so he missed the pictures but mommy got one anyways as we rushed out the door. Thankful traffic was light and we made it just on time
\n\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>
\nAlways happy to see when of our favorite teachers, Mrs Kennamer; thankful to drive away hearing the joy in their voices 
\n\"\" <\/a>\"\"<\/a>
\nOur girls are done with school for the day; thankful for the smiles on their faces at pick up
\n\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a>
\nWe stopped by their favorite, Roll Up on the way home; thankful they were in talkative mood and wanted to share about their day
\n\"\"<\/a>
\nLove their playful spirit; thankful they enjoyed their day
\n\"\"<\/a>
\nSurprised them when they got home with oreo balls ; thankful there is a homemade treat to send in their lunches tomorrow
\n\"\"<\/a>  <\/p>\n

Our second day of school was cousins, Sara and Katie and Alex Ann’s first day since they have alternating days for students in grades 6th thru 12th. They opened the new Pizitz campus near aunt Stacy’s house so her girls will be walking home in the afternoons. We are hoping the Rhoads stay in their house for a long time so both our girlies can walk home in middle school too. So thankful to see all the smiles and hear that everyone had a great day with friends in classes. <\/p>\n
