It is rough not being able to pick up Princess Leia! That has to be the toughest part of healing from\u00a0surgery. I knew in the hospital to get up and move around as much as possible to help speed up recovery. Not getting to pick\u00a0Leia up and do everything I normally do was what I dreaded the most about having to have a c-section to deliver Ivy; I tried everything, all the old wise tales\u00a0to avoid the c-section\u00a0but nothing worked. My fears seemed to be validated at the hospital when Leia did not want to\u00a0get close to me after seeing the\u00a0tubes from the IV in my arm on her first visit(in hindsight we should had covered that up). However, \u00a0it turned out to be a blessing;\u00a0I had decided Leia and I needed to get out of the room for a few minutes when she came to visit so she did not just see mommy stuck in a room\/bed. The doctor on call came in to check on me while I was gone and when Chris told her where I was she asked if “we wanted to go home, if I felt well enough to walk that far I could go home”. Best news when we got back up to the room hearing we could leave. I could go home and spend time with both my daughters since I had not saw Leia much since\u00a0the day before I had Ivy. Below is one of\u00a0the first picture of my girls and I when Leia decided to climb up into my lap. It is not the best picture but mommy since mommy was still quite sore from surgery and swollen but I\u00a0sure was happy to have both in my\u00a0lap so I took a pain pill and enjoyed Leia and Ivy loving on each other and me.<\/p>\n
