Leia, Lisa, and Ivy got to enjoy a mom and baby beach trip this past week. It was a blast! All of the kids LOVED the ocean and the beach. Leia was a little skeptical to get in the ocean at first but after carefully watching her friends she ran in to join the fun in the water. It is amazing what a child will do, eat, or want just because another one is doing, eating, or has something. Luckily, our kiddos seem to be a good influence on each other (hopefully it will stay that way!)<\/p>\n

The weather was beautiful for the most of the trip but turned out chilly after an afternoon storm rolled through a couple days before they left. We were not stuck in the house with cool weather though; everyone found entertainment at the estuarium on Dauphin Island in the morning hours. Despite the fact there was a school field trip the staff let us look and touch the animals \u2018resting\u2019 too. Leia enjoyed driving the boat the most while she was there. After afternoon naps we all ventured back out to the ocean for a little while since the sun was out. The water was still warm but when we got out the little ones started shaking.<\/p>\n

The next day one of the ladies on the trip parent\u2019s lived close by and invited everyone to their farm. Everyone got to pick a few blueberries and roam around. It was a great set up for the kids. Keri\u2019s mom is muilti-TALENTED! She made the sand box herself (I was impressed) as well as planted and tends a yummy garden. Leia enjoyed picking blueberries and plants off a tree to eat (I made sure to tell her we can only eat off of special bushes). Of course since we were that close to the ocean we had to go out for seafood one day despite the fact we had tons of food in the beach house. The food was good but Keri\u2019s mom\u2019s gumbo she brought us the first night was better!<\/p>\n

Everyone seemed to have such a good time. I assume the dads even had a great time since they had some peace and quiet at home or got to go on a boys-trip. Hopefully we can go again next year on our mom and kid trip but there will be a few more additions by then so we may have to invite the dads or a babysitter (or two) to join us to have more hands on deck.<\/p>\n
