We have always just painted or put stickers on pumpkins but this year Leia asked to carve one, plant pumpkin seeds, and roast pumpkin seeds. This afternoon we did not have a packed schedule so we explored the pumpkin’s insides. Leia and Ivy both were excited as we cut the top but as soon as they saw inside neither wanted to touch the seeds or slimy stuff. Although, they did enjoy drawing the face on the pumpkin for mommy to cut and after the seeds were washed they were touchable. We went outside to plant some seeds and play. The girls are looking forward to growing pumpkins next year, even had fun songs about it; hope it happens. When we came back in for the night we roasted some seeds although when there were finished the only one that would eat one was mommy. Enjoyed the afternoon/evening exploring the pumpkin with the girlies.

Leia’s class has been doing a unit on pumpkins.
