Leia was super excited to start school while Ivy not happy sissy left her at home. Through the first week Leia was a little (um, a lot) tearful while Ivy was confused as to why sissy was not around as much and began adjusting to having undivided attention. Mommy was about ready to pull Leia from public school to private just for half days to try to help the adjustment between all the tears and sleepless nights. Two and a half weeks into this new arrangement there are not as many tears although little sister throws down wanting big sister to be home and Leia still ask to just stay home since sissy gets to on mommy’s days off still; we are all still adjusting to the new schedule but it is working. Leia knows more of what to expect each day at school now and is making new friends. Her favorite thing is PE and riding the bus home. Her teacher, Mrs Jan Renfro says Leia is a “precious girl and very much a leader, a big help to her and the rookie teammates”. Ivy and mommy has gotten up to the school twice to eat lunch with her and plans on going once a week as long as princess Leia wants us too. Of course, Lisa signed up to be a room mom and was told room mom’s were welcome at all field trips and class parties (Yeah!) and we have been up there 3 times for those meetings. Looking forward to what this year brings and the exciting things Leia will accomplish.

Leia is officially a kindergartner with the first day (August 12, 2015) in the books.
